I did the first one in Melbourne, from what ive read its a lot shorter now and quite a bit different, but it was bloody brutal. Would definitely recommend doing it though, im gonna start training again and try to do it once a year.

I did The Stampede last year, which is similar but it's only 10km.

Very easy so long as you're reasonably fit. The challenges are well spaced out and you can walk in between. There were plenty of fat people there just having a go and the only thing they couldn't do was the wall climb. The whole day was such a blast. You get a real rush just from conquering the challenges. I did it with my girlfriend and we jogged between most of the challenges. Had a bit of a, "I don't wanna do this one" while we were waiting for the electro-shock. We were waiting there for about 15 minutes cause some guy broke his leg.

The hardest obstacle for me were the mud pits at the start of the challenge simply because I wasn't sure whether to be careful and stay relatively clean or just get brutally muddy.

I'd recommend The Stampede first, just to get an idea, and then graduate to Tough Mudder. I'm trying to get some mates signed up to do it this year.

No, I found it pretty easy and a lot of fun.

Trying to get fit, as I now have a small child so, since she's been born, I've done the Melbourne Half-Marathon (21ks), City to Sea (14) and Tough Mudder. Trying to do the full marathon this year.

To be honest, the Half-Marathon almost killed me.

Didn't do too much training for Tough Mudder but have stopped smoking and eating crap. And trying not to drink. Still about 5 kgs over what I want to be. Did it with a girl. Only two of us, as eight others pulled out.

Anyway, it was actually a lot of fun and so that made it easier. We did jog between the obstacles too and didn't walk. I'm not physically the fittest guy but TM is about mental strength. The electric shock things were actually pretty strong and I didn't do the trench obstacle as I'm claustrophobic. Was good- do recommend.

Not as good as a banana thickshake though.

Thanks mate, it was a huge relief. I'm normally a confident, outgoing guy, but interviews just quieten me completely and I end up just sounding like a monotonous, boring guy.

Not sure if it'll work for anyone else, but I just kept repeating that this is my job, they've got a job and they're just waiting to give it to me, fifteen minutes of show for x dollars, etc. etc. Worked brilliantly.

Dat moment when one of the panel members gave a sideways glance to one of the others... Deep down I knew I had it then.

Mother was scoffing at price while little shit was going agro, got shown sennheisers, kid yells "no mum these are all shit compared to beats, they're rubbish" meanwhile sales girl shakes her head and everyone nearby is laughing.. Should've stuck around to see if the turd got his overpriced shitty headphones.

Sounds like the parent was at least being cool about it... last time I saw some little shit doing this, the old man just walked out.. was very funny... the kid was just "hey!"... "Hey! Where are you going!!???"... "Hey!!!" Before eventually running after him almost in tears. Very well played.
