my dad got that exact photo and framed it. think he bought it off the herald.

i would've been 15 at the time and we left the apartment we were in at the time when i was 17 so some time inbetween i broke the photo. more specifically i broke the glass. i used to throw a ball against the wall and bat against myself, as you do when you are a cricketing fanatic in your mid teens. probably more suited to outdoors, but sometimes it was too much effort to go down the lift.

i still remember it well - played an absolute cracking on drive down the hall, that hit the very edge of a door frame and went off at right angles into my bedroom, hitting the photo. not even possible to do if i tried. that being said it was a miracle this was the only photo i broke.

in removing the glass i cut myself a bit too, with a bit of blood dripping onto darren lehman (number 9)'s back. at least i'm pretty sure that is lehmann. the blood stained and i also tore a tiny bit of the photo trying to remove it. but thanks to the inguenity that kids in their mid teens have, some sticky tape, a little bit of paper that i coloured in yellow, i managed to patch it back up. it is still sitting in his office today (with the glass still unreplaced the last time i checked), and he has never noticed. At least he has never said anything to me.
