It's their fans, the way in which they were put together, and players that irritate people including myself.

But in saying that, there are many out there who hate them because they're good as well.

It's strange that basketball - where a single match is generally pretty close right till the end - is easily the least equalised of the four major american sports - miami heat have gone back to back, lakers 09-10, lakers 2000-2002 and between 1999 and 2007 (9 seasons) the lakers and spurs won 7 between them.

NHL hasn't had back to back champions since 97-98 red wings, and since then have only had three teams win consecutive conference finals - stars 99-00, pens 08-09 and red wings 08-09.

New England was the last back to back Super Bowl team in 04-05, and no team has contested two consecutive super bowls since. in fact in the NFC there have been 11 different teams go to the super bowl in the last 12 years (sadly not the cowboys), with only the giants doubling up.

baseball same story - yankees 98-2000 was the last back to back (ended up a threepat) winners. and similarly only phillies 08-09 and rangers 10-11 made back to back world series, although the giants (10 and 12), cardinals (06 and 04) and yankees (01 and 03) have nearly done so.

That's a good point.

Seven game series have stamped out many upsets, and the chances of a team like Miami choking are quiet small.

The volume of games definitely gives players like LeBron, Kobe, Shaq, Duncan and so on chances to assert their dominance.
