Taught Year 9s about 6 years ago for a year and tried to talk to them about cricket and pass on a bit of love for the game. Was met with responses about cricket sucking and being boring etc. Fast forward to now and the harshest critics are in indoor cricket teams and attend matches and have grown up to be your typical cricket bogans with a genuine enjoyment for the game. Makes me smile

Of course it depends on the area you live in. Some places I've been exactly like you & others I just go with it.

In recently thought I'd see a new doctor in my new local area. Middle aged Asian women, not that it matters she was Asian. Can see why she was the doctor I could see on short notice. Very poor bedside manner and basically got sent straight on my way. Won't be back.

Two teams of relative no-names, one of which has an entire squad of players whose name end with 'son' and the other comes from the country with the worst language ever invented and the two commentators haven't missed a beat.

Fox Footy on the other hand employs people to follow one league year on year and they still can't get the names right. Or pronounce all the syllables in 'terrific'. Or use 'have' and 'of' correctly. And...
