When your friends girlfriends thinks a stirring of your friend is picking on him that shits me, also when an admin lady at work hides all the tea spoons

The (non) service at my local Bunnings store, bunch of ******* muppets every time I go in there I leave in a bad mood from shit service!

If they are worse than the lazy cretins at my Bunnings store they must be shockers indeed. I am convinced that to get a job there you have to be intellectually handicapped, in fact one of the best employees at my local is in slightly so. His name is Rusty and it's his job is to retrieve the trolleys and be a general dogs body but he's a real character and the most helpful person in the store. I told the useless ****en Manager there that he should be the trolley boy and Rusty should be the Manager. The idiot thought I was joking.
It seems it's a problem across the Bunnings sites.

Yep, I'm actually a pretty easy going happy guy 99% of the time, Bunnings brings the devil out in me, and problem is they've put most of the little independent stores out of business who used to actually give a shit helping you out.

Do independent hardware stores even exist? I can't actually remember ever seeing one..

There's varying degrees of independence. Bunnings are completely owned by Wesfarmers. The Home Hardware and Thrifty-Link brands are owned by Woolworths, but most stores are owned by franchisees.

On the other hand Mitre 10 is a national cooperative of independent store owners, so I try and shop there over the others. At least I think it is. There were some noises about a takeover at one stage.

Women, yes, WOMEN who can't control their dogs.

Just had a woman's dog chase me while I was on my bike. It had a leash around it's neck but it was running free. The woman was calling it, but gave up and just kept walking, figuring it would come evetnually. I rode post and it started chasing me. I turned around and yelled out "EXCUSE ME! Can you learn to control your dog?!" And she rips out "you rode all the way back here (about 200m), to tell me that?" And I go, "well how do I know your dog isn't going to bite me?" To which she replies, "he's a friendly dog, he wouldn't bite anyone." And I asked her how am I supposed to know that, to which she replies "Piss off, you arseh*le!" And I go "What did you just call me?" She then chased the dog for another 15-20 seconds trying to catch it.

****ing stupid ****.

Perhaps if you went in there with a more positive attitude, everybody might enjoy a better outcome.

Potentially the most embarrassing happened to me about a minute ago. Sister and her mates are out and told me to open the door for them when they get back. Doorbell rings, I open it, roll my eyes, and sit back on the couch in a flash. 30 seconds later, someone says 'umm, hello'?.

It was my sisters friends mum.

Never had to make a more sheepish apology

FWIW was rolling my eyes because I have exams in half a week and she had no right to have anyone over in the first place.

I thought you might have been nude and doing the old hand jive. That would have been embarrassing.
It was more the utter disdain on my face.

Woolworths and Wesfarmers have far too much control in the retail sector. Groceries, petrol, hardware, liquor, pokies, pubs, department stores all dominated by these two.

It's madness that people have willingly allowed themselves to be coerced into a duopoly simply to save a buck here and a buck there.

Not really madness. People are always going to get what they want and need for the lowest cost they can. You can't really expect or ask them to do any different. It's actually completely rational, the opposite of madness.

For the shit that Wesfarmers and Woolworths cop they're actually pretty good corporate citizens. It could be a lot worse, and at least they're public companies which will always keep them somewhat honest. With a population our size there was only ever going to be a couple of big retail players. They don't do too bad a job.

Perhaps you should stick to posting on matters that you have knowledge of.
