Right

So the ex and I split up about 10 or so weeks ago, and during the early stage of the break up, the electricity bill for the old house came in (or so she says) so she asked me for $100 to cover half the bill. I said sure and gave her the money.

Got an email the other day (changed everything completely into my name) saying the bill was overdue.

The bitch ruddy swindled me $100 bucks. Fell for it. Dumbarse me

not 100% relevant, but the quote "if you lend someone money and never see them again, consider it money well spent" comes to mind

The fact that some people genuinely think the truck driver was in the wrong here.

car driver is an idiot but truck driver clearly wasnt a safe distance away either. unless your saying its acceptable for a truck to drive to close behind a car that if the car has to stop for some emergency reason, the trucks only option is to plow right through the back of it.

Yup. And everyone is on their phones taking photos.

People were taking selfies next to the memorials in the days after the carnage on Bourke Street at the start of this year.

Pulling dumb faces and everything.

The temptation to smash their phones was strong.

Caused so much distress for people, yet the memories of those involved are desecrated by the attention seeking whores of social media. Some people cant even go back to work in the area such is their anxiety. #workcover

When people take photos/videos in portrait mode when clearly landscape is better for that scene, that shits me.
When people record an event, for example an assault or crime, they scream, shriek or drown out the evidence with their own noise.

How can he keep a safe a distance when the car wasn't even in his lane until 5 seconds before the crash
He had ample time to adjust his speed for the car changing lanes. Not saying this crash was avoidable as the ****wit basically stopped in front of him, but I would assume truck drives are training in defensive driving and he did not put his training in action there.

While the driver of the car was an absolute idiot the truck driver will have to cop responsibility.

How anyone thinks a truck can stop in that distance carrying that size load is also an absolute idiot - if he is travelling at the speed limit there is no way possible that he is going to be able to stop in that distance. I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often given the number of cars l see that "duck" into a space in front of a truck coming up to lights that he is stopping for. I always feel sorry for truck drivers travelling in the metro area with the number of idiots they have to contend with but I've also noticed lately the number of trucks that travel at speed not making allowances for their loads and the reality they may have to stop suddenly.

The driver of that car was very lucky

I think you assume too much. They way they drive I doubt any truckie has even heard of a safe stopping distance.

Perth surely breeds some dumb SUV drivers

SUV drivers have replaced Volvo drivers as the biggest tools on the road, they think they can do as they please as they have bigger vehicles than regular cars

I think technically the truck driver is at fault but the driver of the car is a moron.

You're the idiot. The car pulled up in front of his safe stopping distance, ok the truckie is used to that, but then to slow down 100m from intersection is criminal

Car pulled out a long way ahead of the truck, plenty of time to slow down and restore a safe distance. Cars pulling out infront of trucks is a thing, but not in this case. How much more bloody room does the truck want? He should have slowed to restore his safe distance immediately like any sensible driver. Yes the car stopped suddenly because he's an idiot, but had he stopped for a legit reason (child ran infront, engine died, another car etc) the truck still would have run up his ass.

Drive a truck for a week

im about to port/switch mobile carriers - from iinet (which uses optus) to optus (who have a great deal atm on a byo phone)
anyone done this recently? how long does it take to happen? and will I be out of phone action?
I haven't changed carriers since I first got a mobile. im a loyal bugger.....

SUV's are so easy to drive. Everyone should be made to drive an old car like me. You become much better at it when the vehicle doesn't handle like a dodgem cart.

Drive a truck for a week
dont care. if trucks are really that hard to drive (not doubting they are) then thats even more reason why they should be a hell of a lot more careful than they are, and why i have no sympathy. i might have more sympathy if i wasnt constantly tailgated by trucks on the freeways despite sitting at the limit (not in the right hand lane either).

reckless and unintelligent (or else they'd do a better job) bullies driving the largest, most difficult and dangerous vehicles on the road.....it wont be too soon till theyre all automated or on rail.

And there it is.

And there it is.
Wtf you on about, I said all that in my first post about the massive crash yesterday caused by a truck which was apparently so difficult to drive that he had no choice but to drive through a red light into incoming traffic. I suppose all the cars going on the green light shouldn't have cut in front of the truck.

Its not about yesterday for you , its about everyday. You sit in your little Barina and the big bad meanie truck driver sits behind you. You start to shake then sweat then panic sets in.

Traffic flows in an orderly manner because EVERYBODY is on song to everything else. Its when somebody ( yes this includes truckies) decide the road belongs to them and the normal rules dont apply. The above video that I commented on, not the other accident, is clearly the small cars fault. Nobody elses. That you think its the truck drivers says more about you than anything else you posted

He reckons he blacked out while driving
We had a driver who said the same thing after driving into a house. Found out he was right. Needed a triple bypass a few months later and one of the symptoms was blacking out
