Traffic flows in an orderly manner because EVERYBODY is on song to everything else.

Classic truckie. "I can sit on the ass of a car the size of my engine because as long as everyone is moving forwards it's ok and if they stop then it's their fault"

My driving habits of wanting to go the speed limit without a truck meters from my rear bumper? Of wanting to know that I can stop in an emergency situation without 10 tons of metal being shoved up my ass. God forbid anyone wants to be even vaguely safe on the roads.

You know you are allowed to slow down as well. As long as you do it safely then the truck driver will overtake you , when safe. Its your reactions that cause the issue

Speaking to you has actually lowered my opinions of truckies. I used to think they were simply reckless and impatient. Now I realise that they literally do not care about the law or the safety of the cars around them, and actually expect everyone else to make way for them to break the lawor else the consequences of a crash are all their fault.

I didn't call him a sociopath. I said he is an idiotic reckless bully who has no regard for the safety of anyone else, who thinks that he can break the law, bully other road users and drive in an extremely dangerous fashion because reasons.

I also hate truck drivers up my arse. So many of them do it. I don't understand it. You are going the speed limit and theres a car in front of you going the speed limit but still they drive agressively up your arse. There's room on both sides to speed and go around you but no there they stay. Drives me absolutely insane.

When it comes to the road people notice those different to them.

Taxis stand out, trucks, 4WD and bikes if you drive a car.

So you tend to remember the idiots that weren't in a normal car and attribute their behavior to all drivers of those vehicles

I know safe truck drivers, I know safe bike riders and 4wd owners, I also know idiots in cars.

The biggest issues are that Aussies are not taught how to drive properly and respect for road laws and other drivers

I know the road toll is apparently high, but the level of acceptance of other drivers using the road and nothing more than the occasional toot of the horn in Danang and other places in Vietnam blew my mind. I couldn't help but imagine the levels of road rage in Australia should someone have cut you off, or merged without 10 minutes of indication.

When I was in Vietnam, the use of car horns was constant and I mean constant. If you've been to any of their big cities you will know this.

It's not done in an angry fashion, more in a "just a warning that I'm coming" way.

If you change lanes in front of a truck, which requires them to slow down, then you are 100% in the wrong if anything happens immediately afterwards.

if you change 5m in front of them and immediately stop then yes. the car in the video of the 'poor innocent truck' changes lanes a pretty clear distance ahead and the truck has ample time to see and slow down to a safe distance, even though the car stops like an idiot.
