'Cool dad' is an oxymoron.

It's a bit like Top Gear's old Cool Wall. Something can be cool AF but once they like it it becomes uncool by default.

I think as a dad there is no cool, just varying degrees of uncool. I work with a bloke that is 42 with two kids about 3 and 6 or thereabouts. Least cool bloke I know, but he loves it. If he tried to be hip cool dad it would be cringeworthy.

Anyone noticed how, well, slow it is these days at "fast food" places like McDonald's and Hungry Jack's?

I don't go to these places that often, but it seems like a 5-10 minute wait at any time is pretty standard these days, when you used to get your food in about a minute 15-20 years ago. Are they somehow less efficient now, or do they only cook "to order" nowdays, rather than having the popular stuff ready and waiting?

KFC is the worst in service as well as product quality.

'Fresh' fast food places have gone past the traditional burger/chicken joints because it's quicker to dick around making a wrap/sandwich while asking 100 questions than chase up a burger, fries etc. that others have to make.

They take longer, but there's no improvement in quality. Hell, it's 50/50 whether your burger will even be warm at HJ's these days.

The time as well as the ever-increasing prices make it more worthwhile to go to the fancier burger joints. Same time, same price, but better taste.

I find most of them too unnaturally shit to want to go to these days. If I go to get a burger, chips and soft drink combo I'm chasing fat, sugar and salt obviously but Maccas just tastes like preservatives to me.

It's quicker to get a plate of curry, and some rice from a bain marie in a food court than it is traditional fast food like Maccas.

Driving to work today and some absolute ****ing moron of a dickhead comes to a COMPLETE STOP in the right lane of the freeway because she nearly missed her exit, and then held up traffic in the two left lanes so she could exit. ****ing douchebag dickhead arseh*le could have caused a major accident
Luckily everyone had enough room to brake safely otherwise I would have hunted her down and yelled profanities at her. She got away lightly with a cacophony of honking horns.

Never seen someone come to a complete stop but people almost missing their exit and causing a hazard trying to cut across happens all the time. if I was police boss I'd set up undercovers at every off-ramp and have them pull over and taze every person who did it.

There should be greater penalties for traffic infringements other than speeding or drink driving.

The number of people on the Kwinana/Mitchell Fwy who pay zero attention to the markings on the road is insane.
