And cooler. Even though I suffer horribly from heat and humidity, the hottest parts of summer were really only for a comparatively brief period, looking back. You might have a week-long heatwave (now, more than a day of 30 or more is termed a heatwave ), but the other 51 weeks of the year are bearable.

As I’ve said before, air con has reduced our tolerance for variations in temperature.

$4 - took my granddaughter to a “fair” on the March long weekend and the toddler rides and clown games were $8 each

Reckon they would have well and truly gone up now
