When I was a lad I believed that when the plug was pulled out of the bathtub there was a man under the drain sucking away all the water and if I didn't get out in time I would be sucked down the drain with all the water.

Also, around same time I asked my mum how pilots fly planes - she replied with the answer "with instruments"...so for the next few years after that I pictured the pilots with guitars and trumpets, and that was somehow assisting them with flying the plane.
