When waiting at traffic lights at an intersection etc, I will look at the traffic lights in the other direction (when I can see them - eg at a 90 degree angle etc), to determine when my light may go green.

in days of yore in the dead of the night, if the right ahead just turned red and i wanted to turn right, i move to the left lane which permits left turn, execute left turn and do a sneaky Uey resulting in me on the road i wanted to go on in no time

Can't you just reverse back a bit and go back to the line. Doesnt that change up the sequence in the middle of the night?

I got into stretchy jeans last year, game changer, nearly as comfortable as trackies. Not Kmart for me though, I’m a real big deal and went to Just Jeans
I have been buying Just Jeans tank tops for legit 20 years now. They're the only tank top I'll wear.

I don’t think it’s on par with the standing or sitting to wipe thread and this seems the most fitting place.. I have just been told that someone at my gym does something weird that I never thought anyone would do.

They put their shoes on in this order:
Sock -> Shoe -> Sock -> Shoe

Surely everyone goes
Sock -> Sock -> Shoe -> Shoe?!

The sitting/standing thread is an all timer, it stands alone :)

Not me but I have a friend that whenever he eats a meal he will eat all of one food at a time. So if he has a meal of steak, carrots and peas he will eat all the peas, then all the carrots then all the steak. He won't eat a bit of everything at a time.

I hated veggies as a kid so still eat them mostly first leaving the meat and spud to finish on

I actually eat my veggies in a separate bowl as an "entree"

That could be a deal breaker on some first dates I reckon, he'd be safer going a bowl of pasta (no garlic bread)

Don't ppl eat Maccas like this tho. Chips first, followed by burger, straight out of the bag. **** that, I plate it, and eat the burger and chips at the same time.

I don't plate my Mackers, I'm nowhere near that posh, I take burger and chips out of the bag. If I get the cheeky extra Cheeseburger I might nail that in the drive home though.

yes might take a solo chip or two on the way home. But then unload all and sundry onto a plate and let me eyes feast on the mackers goodness.

My oldest son has always done this and he’s now 21
It’s so weird

It’s pretty common though in my experience, surprised raskolnikov had got that far in life without acknowledging it.

Lots of kids didn’t enjoy a lot of veges in early childhood and were coerced into the ingrained habit of getting the veges out of the way first. A lot of veges in those dishes also taste better individually (I like em fairly plain). Think of it like entree and main on a plate.

As a little one I couldn’t stand cucumber, avocado and fresh tomato. Was always an ordeal dealing with them then. Others like broccoli and peas I always craved.

A meat & two veg like steak, carrot & peas is to me the most obvious dish where one might eat this way. Greens, then roots, then meat. Just a steady strategic finish-your-plate eating style really, you don’t ruin your appetite and save best for last.

With maccas I was always burger then chips, never at once or in reverse. If I went drive-thru, I’d scoff the burger whilst parked, and then sample the fries whilst driving. Even today I leave my beverage for last, not one to drink during a meal save maybe a hydrating sip of water or coffee. Conversation and beverages don’t mix with eating for me, I’m a silent sober eater by preference. That glass of wine is neglected till the meal is done. I just see it as listening to your body and enjoying food at a pace that suits where each element gets to shine.

The people we are talking about are another level again

Like I’m talking will completely deconstruct some foods in order to seperate and taste the different ingredients. It’s bizzare .

The wife and I try explain the nuances of gastronomy and the fusion of compatible flavours complementing and enhancing each other and he just looks at us while peeling the crust off his pie to dig out the mushrooms and chicken chunks

Yeah physically separating out and deconstructing a dish to do this is certainly beyond and rude table manners. That’s nuts. But the steak, carrots, peas example mentioned as you’d typically imagine it plated, seemed obvious and not that unusual.

Sometimes nibbling at say a fried rice on my lonesome I’ll tend to unconsciously pick out the colourful veges at my leisure (things like that allow one to graze for longer), but I’m not actively separating out elements like in a pie. I get where the mentality comes from (we enjoy savouring our food at a birdlike nibble pace and aren’t overall picky eaters or foodies and are more eat to live).

Rude table manners?

Let people eat however they want to eat!

Unless they are chewing with their mouth open. That is the worst!

I mean I'd eat the veggies separately to the steak in that scenario but i wouldn't really care about seperation of veggies

I pretty much do that although we usually have mixed veg I’m not crazy enough to sort that. I also eat in order of most disliked part first that way I end on the best but. My eldest daughter who has very similar traits to me does the same.
