I like to make made up cities in my head. Even plan out the geography, infrastructure, suburbs, sports teams etc.

I've created an entire fictional continent over my lifetime.

I've drawn my own world map before. Drew the continental land masses and then just did random lines as the country borders.

You guys might be interested in this. a guy who made up his entire islands and made some pretty insane maps about it. The Kona Islands even has its own subreddit now

When I'm at the checkout at supermarket, I'll look at checkout chick, try and guess what her name may be based on what she looks like, then look at name tag...obviously never get it right though.

sometimes when graced with beauty at that place, or drive through estblishments, i thank them with their name on end of thanks.

I use spare change in vending machines, pres the refund button and get the money back in better proportion (eg: $2 worth of 10c or 20c coins.... press refund and it refunds a $2 coin).

I used to do it ages ago, got reminded of it yesterday and did it today

Doesn't work with 5c coins though I'll need to go to a banks coin counting machine to get rid of them (would have a few hundred dollars in just 5c coins ).

I should point out it doesn't always work the first time or you might end up with similar shrapnel in coins. Another time I had $3 in coins.... got $3 back all in 20c. Did it again and it spat out $2 and $1.

Still works, it might vary depending on the machine used, not even sure how old the one I tried it on today has been around BUT it also had a swipe slot for your bank card too (kinda like how Time Zone does swipe cards for games instead of inserting coins yourself). When I did this more regularly (2 and a bit years ago) , the machine was "current" but the insert coin mechanism was weird (you put it in the coin slot styled like a can/bottle holder and push it in to the machine to insert the money).

Unsure if this would work on even older machines (the 80's, 90's, early 2000's Coke machines that are still around in some places).

As I updated my previous post it MIGHT take a few goes to get right, it also depends on how much change is inside the machine at the time (if everyone is stingy and used their own silver coins to buy drinks you're obviously not going to get $1 or $2 coins back when you press refund).

That nearly happened to me today someone's kid ran up and pressed the buttons as I was putting the money in the machine.... luckily the cheapest thing in there was $3.50 and I had not inserted that much!

My bathroom is pretty awesome, walk on the floor when it's wet and the footsteps make a similar sound to the sound effects used when Robocop walks

Also I do random things in the shower like rise my arm in the air and put the palm of my hand over the shower head to feel the water pressure against it (this is the 5 year old me, pretending I am Superman stopping a leaking pipe - kills a few minutes of boredom). For further shits and giggles I often look at the ceiling and visualise this:

I can vouch this works also.

I had a shitload of shrapnel in my desk at work and started feeding into the vending machine to get gold coins out.

I'm guessing if you keep doing it eventually you'll start getting your shrapnel back, like when you chuck in a $2 coin, change your mind and get a whole heap of silver spit out.

I think that's a pretty common thing. I remember someone I know saying that you're better off overestimating that underestimating due to the way it's set up, probably because you'd rather be owed money that be paid too much and have to pay it back.

Where to start...

When people on the radio ask people to call in with certain stories, I will pretend I've rung in and tell my story.

When I'm in an elevator I like to pretend that I am making the doors open/close with my mind as well as making the lift is going up or down. Sometimes I also pretend that someone is in the lift with me who are from the past and have never seen an elevator before and they are mad impressed with how I'm doing it.

Here's a kinda gross one... I bite off a fingernail and keep it in my mouth and stab my gums with it.

When I was younger if I touched something with one hand I would have to touch it the same way with the other hand.
