Yeah I have never really found the "I need a drink" thing helps me.thats interesting. i know people who after work say "i need a drink" because it apparently "helps" them wind down. another who says the sound of clinking empty wine bottles on bin day is sound to their ears. ok.
for some that might be getting drunk, and power to themYeah I have never really found the "I need a drink" thing helps me.
After a s**t day at work I just want to forget about it and chill out on the couch/do things I enjoy.
It’s certainly not a judgement and I realise it’s fairly common place, just something that I don’t understand personally.thats interesting. i know people who after work say "i need a drink" because it apparently "helps" them wind down. another who says the sound of clinking empty wine bottles on bin day is sound to their ears. ok.

reminds me of a friends daughter who is very much of legal drinking age now, but at the time not. i recall vividly at a party she telling me and others that she knows more about wine than we do. you can imagine the sounds of eye balls rolling back and the movement of vitreous humor amongst the collective groans. It’s certainly not a judgement and I realise it’s fairly common place, just something that I don’t understand personally.
One or two drinks wouldn’t do anything for me personally and I don’t want to drink at all if I’m stressed or in a bad mood so it’s never made any sense at all to me. Plus my mother was a functioning alcoholic so seeing people drink daily just looks horrible, even if it is only one glass.
I always have a glass of wine with dinner.
Not to make light of it but 2 glasses each is a bottle. Open another bottle and you may as well keep goingI actually don’t understand people who have one or two glasses of wine/beer with dinner most nights.
That’s real odd to me.
I still use an A4 diary, a "day to a page" setup.
The 'nodders" behind politicians when they are dribbling shit on TV always make me laughI watch pollies in the background while the PM or whoever is giving a speech. Funny how they look on adoringly, nod and smile in support.

That you don't understand that people may like a glass of wine with their dinner. What part is confusing?
I used to believe this, but if you like beer, then there are some certain situations where a non alcoholic beer can really hit it, if you can't have alcohol, surprisingly better than a coke or that.I respect this choice but I don’t understand it at all.
I don’t dislike the taste of beer but I wouldn’t ever drink it if it wasn’t alcoholic. Far tastier non alcoholic beverages available.
They hit it hard and fast from what I see but they stop earlier and don't end up in the places young guys did before. Not as many get absolutely ****ed up. They binge, get pretty drunk, but then recovery starts. From what I've seen, teens and young adults don't seem to have the same passion for drinking themselves into oblivion like they used to, which is good as there are way to many middle aged people with dependency issues.
One example is that I like the odd boilermaker (neat whiskey with a beer on the side), swapping for n/a beer actually hydrates me and prevents me from taking things too far.I used to believe this, but if you like beer, then there are some certain situations where a non alcoholic beer can really hit it, if you can't have alcohol, surprisingly better than a coke or that.
Example, lunch at work if it's hard and hot. With food if alcohol isn't an option. Even half time at footy (good to be an umpire). I had more than I wanted one night filming in a pub for tv, it was only serving non alcoholic.
If isn't something I would have thought until I experienced it.

There was some follow up where it was explained. That you don't understand that people may like a glass of wine with their dinner.

Personally having one or two beers or wines with dinner is a really weird choice to me. Not enough to get a buzz on, just drinking average tasting alchohol. Not a judgement just not a choice I’d make.
