I assume you mean he's no good as captain because he had a poor game against Geelong. He's been OK in other games as captain - I think!Originally posted by Dan26
Great player, but I have doubts whether the captaincy will affect his form. I've noticed the few games where he has been captain, he hasn't played all that well. Also, not as easy to verbally "marshall the troops" from full-forward. I think he will be captain, more becuase it's a logical progression, rather than it necessarily being the correct move. I think J.Johnson, would make a great captain, especially being in the think of the action (ala Hird, Voss).
On the other hand, Neitz is a great leader from full-forward, so it's a tough one. I tend to think Lloydy plays his best football without the pressure of being the leader.

Nobody's called for his head. The guy is an absolute champion of the game, and the fact that he plays for us is a major reason that we've been in the finals the last six years.
But: I don't know if he's captaincy material.

there was one particular person on the official essendon website saying that we should trade him!

Still don't think he is a captain. Shoot me for having an opinion.
Of the leadership group on Saturday - he was the only one to show leadership - which was great by Lloydy and terrible by the others.
There was such a distinct lack of leadership on the weekend - that is what you can contribute the thrashing to.
Well done Lloydy but one game doesn't change the fact I don't think he is a captain.

Would anyone like to re-visit their thoughts on the captaincy given M.Lloyds efforts in leading the side with Hird being out ?

I think last night could also be used as an argument as to why he shouldn't be captain. Played very well, but no influence on the result.

Ummm ... The Great One DID have an influence on the game. That remark was just plain nonsense!!
