One positive from today's co-captaincy announcement is the absolute passion shown by the majority of the supporter base around upholding the club's traditions. There's no doubt club officials are hunkered down in their trenches waiting for the barrage to subside.

Contrast this with the reaction at West Lakes when Walker and Sloane were announced as co-captains. Barely a murmur.

If anything demonstrates that we are a traditional club and not a franchise, it's this.

I would like to see us win 1 out of the first 7 then fly home with a 11-4 record.

Scrape in the 8, win 4 away finals and our captains call the team up to lift the premiership cup.

Then I will purchase a replica cup and shine a teal LED on it for all my guests to admire.

I don't care if we win playing like Ross Lyon has personally coached everyone of our players in to defensive pricks, our average scoreline is 50-45, and we all hate each other.

Now that the Xircus is over I’m looking forward to our first preseason game in 7 days time, if only for a preview of the overhauled gameplan. We need some hope dammit! It will also be interesting to see what the new guys can offer and who’s putting their hand up for Round 1.

There has been a lot of change for us over the offseason, players, coaches, philosophy, tradition (ugh), so we could be a real surprise packet one way or the other.

Nope... that style of gameplan has proven to not win premierships...

I would rather us lose in a shootout 160-170 once every 4 or 5 games and win the other games 160-115... that will give us a much better chance to win the flag!

I don't disagree with you on bold aggressive attacking footy being the best approach in the current climate

What I'm saying is win the flag.

Achieve that and I don't really care how we get there (providing we don't drug cheat like Essendon/Geelong of course). If we win the flag playing defensive we still win the flag. If we win the flag with scores of 200-180 we still win the flag. I don't give a **** how it looks. Just win. It's been 14 years straight without success.

George's and Kane's speeches at their HoF induction were both incredible. They couldn't have had more different football journeys yet both passionately expressed complete love and admiration for the Port Adelaide Football Club. I think our Board will be all the poorer with George no longer involved.
