Theres a few keyboard warriors on here calling him weak. He’s never backed out of one contest. He plays the game on the edge. More players should do it.
Yep really brave is Toby. Nothing more manly than being third/fourth man on top, scratching at a guys face and pulling his hair while he can’t move. The epitome of hardness.

You are correct in saying that the system is f’ed. I get what you are saying re Toby but I can't get behind a system that grades something one week as a fine and then a lesser action the week after as a week suspension. Does indeed seem f’ed.
i think the fact that he did it last week, displays ‘remorse’ and then proceeds to carry out a similar action, escalates the incident this week.

I just don't think the current system works that way though, there isn't room for emotion and it's purely based off the action that is being graded. Interested in how they grade this and the explanation given.

I bolded think as it's so confusing I might be wrong.

Since when is attacking players faces on the bottom of packs when they have no idea who is doing what, or any way to defend themselves “playing the game”?

If you think thats fair game, i think you should stick to following the NRL, where they love sticking fingers up eachothers asses.
I’m trying to understand this contrived sense of sportsmanship in a game where getting up in each other’s grill is all part of the contest. It’s always been part of footy and this revolutionary mindset people bring to the game is a result of a false morality that constantly needs to be validated by expressing outrage at things that are in the context of traditional contested footy, rather innocuous.

If you want to be a revolutionary by all means go ahead. But don’t kid yourself into thinking you’re doing anything good.

How come there are a bunch of heroes flying in their capes in every Toby Greene discussion saying “he’s an outstanding footballer and every side would gladly have him”? Nobody is ever, ever disputing his footballing ability; everybody unitedly agrees that he’s a sensational player. He’s a dirty, gutless player and the “tough” blokes of bygone eras that he seems to remind some of would flatten him like a pancake if he tried any of that shit in the 70’s and 80’s. Greene is the opposite of tough, he degrades the meaning of on-field toughness by being associated with that word.

The "Emotional " Eye Gouge...everyone hates it for sure me included. But has he actually eye gouged anyone ..NOT from the footage I have seen. Extended fingers reaching for eyes just not seen in this footage. Pretty sure If I was eye gouged I would jump up pretty smartly protesting and looking for the perpetrator. This is and I repeat myself a Beat Up.

You really want the best players out there playing in the big finals, I wouldn’t be disappointed if he got off.

You’re embarrassing yourself. Attacking defenceless players faces’ while face down on the ground in a pack is not ‘contested footy’.

Attacking people claiming they’re screeching from some moral highground... whilst screaming from his own Moral high ground... lmao

These Bulldogs tears could not taste any sweeter.
Oh no, they're sweeter when you actually know what the ultimate success tastes like so you've got a little ways to go.

As for the grub, he's a legit sociopath. His quote after the game basically amounted to "yeah I did it. Whatevz"

You only have to look as far as Mason Cox’s eye injury to see what a stray fingernail can do to someones season.

Perhaps Green himself should be made to understand that we want the best players playing the game before he goes sticking them around opposing stars eyes every week.

He acted in a cowardly way that could’ve seen the Bont and Neale miss footy had they progressed, no way he should miss suspension based off ‘we want the best players playing’. His actions certainly don’t represent someone who wants that himself.

Yeah but I’m not embarrassed when you obviously are. What can I say to you other than if you say so at this point since there’s no reasoning with your responses.

Getting in each other’s grill is all part of the contest?
Is that what eye gouging is?
What about racist taunts?
I’m not a racist - I’m just putting him off..... you know, I’m just getting under his grill.

Nothing is good anymore.

Can we grow up a bit and not digress to the level of wishing injury or promoting violence on anyone, let alone a player, because you dont like them, hate them or whatever?

There will be no future warnings for comments below the line, you all know what they are.

I am curious what he has done that was so different to last week? What he did against Bont looked so much worst.
Im gonna go out on a limb and say this suspension is a culmination of this week and last weeks incidents.

Is that consistent with the system? Not sure. But the system itself doesn’t produce consistent results, so i don’t know why we’d expect them now

Hopefully he learns a valuable lesson. He like many others like to play on the edge, and sometimes may cop it more than they deserve. I think a player like Sicily fits in that category. But you can’t consistently do these sorts of things on the field and expect to get away with it. Not only did he let himself down, but the rest of the team, especially considering it’s a preliminary final. He should but won’t learn from it.

I thought that but the system isn’t meant to take previous circumstances into account, right?

Im not really sure. I don’t know if anyones sure.

But, I certainly don’t think Toby’s actions following last weeks events are a good look on the MRO, seems like he made them look like a fool to me. That wouldn’t sit well with them.
