Atkins has freed Selwood up to be a burst player in the guts.
Has prolonged his existence IMO. Guth helping too but Atkins getting on top and is now making the oppo pay attention to him and means Sel has stuff in the tank when needed later on.
Cannot be overstated.

Atkins is the one who's really stood up this year and taken the next step with his game when the pressure is one - he was captain of the VFL team, so leadership isn't foreign to him
What Atkins showed in the last qt is what you want from a captain, it was Selwood like

I still think Stewart will be our next captain but wouldn't be shocked to see both Toms in a leadership role of some form soon.
