You think 7 talls isn't enough and we need 8?

EMac, Schoey, Barrass, NicNat, Lycett, Darling, JK, Gov

Just seems a bit too tall for me. I thought a lot of teams were reducing their talls a bit to deal better with the interchange changes.

Not completely against it, I am just thinking it may cause us to lose another rotation in the midfield in the process.
Going back a bit teams used to play up to 9 talls - how times have changed.

Gosh there is some kneejerk on this board this week. Barrass isn't going to fix the midfield issue which is where the problem actually is.

We only had 4 fewer i50s last week for 14 less scores.
Our entries were indeed quite poor and it wasn't all the forwards fault.

However, I believe there is merit to having someone like McGovern up forward as he is capable of marking just about anything.
While it's not fixing the problem directly, and I'd like to see us become more efficient at our i50 work, it could be a stop gap for the moment and perhaps develop into something more.

If bringing in Barrass is what's needed to get McGovern forward then I am for it.

It didn't seem to matter too much last year though?
it worked last year but all three smalls for us are out of form. Maybe we can send cripps to the 2's to get some form. lecca then becomes the deep small forward and jetta and hill can be two HFF and can burn the oppo on the spread like pupolo and betts does.

3 'smalls' (though Hill really isn't) is fine if they can actually crumb goals consistently, or at least one or 2 of them. The only one of the 3 who even comes close to this is Hill, and that isn't even his strength. This is why I was keen for Bennell to continue in his role, and hoping Karps steps up which won't happen it appears. Cripps is an out of form tackling small, not a crumber and I don't know how to describe Lecca but he isn't a crumber and he is even more out of form.

Barrass shouldn't be played yet, but Emac and Schoey especially need to look over their shoulders because he is coming, and I think like Gov once Barrass cracks the 22 on merit he isn't leaving.

It also allows Darling to play higher up the ground and get involved more.

I was most excited by Gov going forward before this season started, but it looks like we are being conservative and using him to plug holes in defence because Eric and Schofield have been steaming piles of shit

Knew the actor from the pick, but no idea what his name was. Generally refer to him as Project X guy or guy from 21 and Over.

Now you can refer to him as Fat Barrass

I'd like to see Wellingham play some midfield time. He's no Kerr (miss you :rainbow:) but he's still a pretty skillful player that doesn't mind the rough stuff. We need sublime delivery into the 50 and he's another one that has that. Can also kick some freakish goals. Lecras to go back to his old role and Wellers delivering I50 would make me happy in the pants.

edit* and since this is a Tom Barrass thread play him too :thumbsu:

I'd bring Barrass in this week especially if Collingwood keep Cloke in the 2's which they likely will.

Without Cloke I don't see a genuine match up for Mackenzie as Cox, Moore and Howe would be far too agile for him. The only chance would be if we isolate a Mackzenzie and Cox match up deep and get another defender to try and get in the way of delivery into big Mason.

Give Ezy an extra week to prepare for Hawkins next week :D

Its obvious Simmo has a soft spot for Butler because he has a cool head but even though I am a big fan it really is time to bring Barrass in as with lamb its time to drop Hill or Cripps and give him his chance.

surely being 14cm shorter means that emac is more mobile than cox. sure cox is described as mobile but probably mobile for his size. I my self in the last few weeks have suggested dropping/resting emac but the more emac plays for the senior side the quicker he adjust and the quicker he regains his top form. He actually hasnt been that bad so far. Had a few bad games but in those games our mids let us down and he was under the pump. He showed glimpes of his best against freo and had some what of a vintage performance against the tigers. I want barrass in the side but thats in the expense of schoey or if they play gob forward. :)

barrass has been awesome. Simmo has apparently hinted that schoey will be back this week, hopefully its not at the expense of barrass. Hopefully tom keeps this form up. Deep down i have a feeling that mc will take emac into finals over him :(

NN another week off to be %100 certain, Gov 2nd ruck/forward perhaps?

im hearing mixed news. I would get NN ASAP. the pies have a strong midfield and at the G could beat us if we put the effort from the last fortnight.
schoey IMO has got too complacent. A couple of weeks at east perth wont hurt.

Thought I read Simmo said Schoefield would be playing this week? Wouldn't like it to be at the expense of Barass or Ezy.

yeah simmo likes him. IMO he has gone backwards. club will most likely drop barrass even though we dont agree it.

Sexualbarassment has been very good since he came into the side and is improving with each outing

Approaches the aerial contests with great confidence and looks increasingly assured when the ball is on the ground. Made a great play in the last quarter when he crashed in and won a loose ball in the forward packet then dished off to a team mate to clear the zone

Still looks a little hesitant with his disposal so takes the safe option of a kick across goals to a loose player or a long kick down the line. Doesn't look to take a risk and kick the ball into the corridor which would be a more attacking option but with experience that confidence will come

He's also a bit left sided which needs to be rectified

The lineage of very good KPDs stretching back to monkey Brennan looks to continue with this kid.
