Except for the fact one Boyd announced his intentions to come to the Dogs the Saints offered him a similar contract and were scrambling to find the appropriate trade assets to outbid the Dogs.

When did I say that? What are you talking about?

separate poster but i thought you were supporting his comments, my apologies if you weren't

the saints inquired about boyd but when it became apparent how large the contract was, they quickly moved. i dont think the discussion went for very long

you would think a mod supporting a club who has libba on their list would show a bit more empathy in regards to recreational drug use, especially with the reports shortly after that saga

I reckon some recruiters and list managers have been slow to adjust to the modern game. Mark and kick types can still be valuable, but they are far less important or dominant than they were in years gone by. Guys like Boyd, Patton and McCartin shouldn't have been Number 1 choices in their prospective draft. They don't possess dangerous ground level skills and are thus too easily shut down by defensive flooding and zones.

And what was the outcome of that? Honestly id love to hear how that has affected the club poorly other than freeing up extra salary cap space for the next 5 years.

Dogs fans bang on about how important he is to their structure, yet refuse to give him a game.
Pretty bloody expensive VFL player.
I'm sorry I have to stop there.

What point of Boyd being on the injury list don't you understand? Don't post crap without facts

quite obvious that St Kilda has been effected paying part of a player's salary who was banned from the sport for a year, who was shown on video snorting cocaine (then admitted it). However I would not expect St Kilda fans to be impartial to that.

Surely if he was that important to your structure he'd be getting a game

You do realise he has been injured for the last few weeks? But apparently you had no idea..

Is that an injury troll?

Good points. Poor poor form from a mod Mike__ suriy u need to respond or just take a look at your own clubs problems firstly. I don't think you would catch saints fans saying things about libbas drug problems but for a mod to do it about carsile is a bit rich

Sorry not sure what him being banned for a year has to do with the cocaine video?
And actually we aren't paying his salary this year, it's quite common knowledge...not that I'd expect you to know that.

lol, McCartin's ground skills are sublime for a guy of his size. See ya in 2 years and we'll finish this

Maybe (I haven't seen it), but I reckon that it's getting to the stage that you can't be dominant inside forward 50 without having ground skills that are sublime for players of all size. He's not going to dominate at ground level. He doesn't look built to cover the Kms of Riewoldt. I just don't think you can dominate inside 50 anymore with a game based around leading and contested marking. It's too hard with all the zoning restricting space. Whilst I think he'll be a solid player, I just don't see how he'll dominate.

There is still room in the game for gun footballers. Hogan isn't an athletic freak but everyone goes nuts about how good he is.
