He's an incredibly dumb footballer. He gives away pointless free kicks (prime example was the fifty for knocking the ball out of the St Kilda players hands), unsuccessfully tries to take on the tackler far too often (doesn't know his limitations) and is an ordinary kick for goal (despite adequate technique)

I can't see him being anything more than a poor man's Kurt Tippett in the future, he just doesn't have the athleticism or nous to be an A-Grader.

This guy is probably on more money than Hodge and Mitchell put together.

Disgusting.

Haha love seeing the heroes chime in with the Boyd bashing. He played 60% in the ruck and the ball entry inside 50 was deplorable. Isn't worth 1 mill a season no doubt but I don't think anyone not named Bontempelli would be dominating up forward for us. We literally had no structure all night.

His contract is only 7 figures for two years yes then decreases again?

He can't football. As simple as that. He's actually a liability on the field. Worst number 1 draft pick in recent history by a long shot.

I thought Tom Boyd provides 'structure' though? That's what Doggies fans say. I didn't watch the game.
He provides structure when he has some help down there. Still, for most of the night he brought the ball down which was good. Just at the end of the game we were putting it on his head when he was completely cooked after not getting a rest since halfway through the 3rd due to injuries.

7 million dollar embarrassment....he is just no good....simple.

No way was he worst on ground, actually thought he did some good work in the ruck. Not in any way his worst game for us, we are being patient but I honestly reckon if it doesn't pay off by this time next year Gordon has to go.

Copped a hiding from a host of medium defenders tonight. If he was ever going to play well tonight was his chance. No idea when to lead or jump.

It averages a mill a year. If they have a year or two of 1.5 then it could go below but really its just semantics.

So I can kinda see how where there is a minimum salary that has to be spent why they would have structured his contract this way. If there were no salary cap base I think even Dogs fans would concede the contract was ludicrous but they are doing it just to make minimum spend I am guessing. And unless he comes good in a hurry his next contract may just be close to minimum at which time they can reward their loyal superstars who stayed no matter what with their 7 figures :)

I'm not saying he was any good. But how the **** is he supposed to know when to jump when 80% of the delivery inside 50 was butchered by shit kicking?

to be fair if i was getting 7 million as a 19 yr old; his life has been made.

He can just give up and not bother anymore, as they bulldogs still have to pay him.

It was a big risk on a kid that was in his first yr.

in his 9 games at GWS he averaged 6.1 disposals & 0.9 goals, hardly spectacular
