I said he looks disinterested. He has a million reasons to be interested.

One of the problems of giving a young player a career contract is usually that contract turns out to be the high point of their career. We've seen plenty examples of that in other professional sports. Boyd's contract is a little unique in the AFL.

What's he now striving for other than self-preservation? At his age a contract of that length extends further ahead than you can see.

We're told too by Bulldogs fans in this thread that his contract is front-loaded.

Sounds the perfect mix for him to be focused on self-preservation & that's exactly how he looks like he's playing.

Think he'll be ok. Dropped a mark he should of taken in the goalsquare very early. Probably lost confidence after that. As much as he's overpaid the dogs needed him and they got him. Gotta risk it to get the biscuit

who would have thought a 20 year old key forward would be inconsistent? Was just about best on ground for us last week but quiet tonight. Definitely wasn't poor anyway, improves the team a hell of a lot just by being there.

He doesn't lead or run hard at all.

Last night's game was played at too fast a pace to be kicking it to stationary forwards. I'm sure that's why they weren't kicking it to him last night.

Doggies lost that game for the same reason they always lose to us - they kick from wing or half back to about 40m out dead in front most of the time. We sit a couple of marking defenders there and some guys on either wing to take the receive and go. It's groundhog game.
