Hates Boyd. Boyd gets good. Still hates Boyd. Boyd is instrumental in Premiership win. Shit. What to do? How did he go in the BnF? Surely 30th? Comes 18th after missing half the year. Shit again. Still hates Boyd.

Rinse and repeat.
I'm just sad someone told him the votes. I was looking forward to his lonely call every six posts

A bloke that's getting at least 25% of your cap comes 18th in the BnF and that's justification to break out the Kleenex again?

I get it. The bloke that took two marks & kicked two goals of merit in a GF is worth $1M dollars.

We all hope the Dogs stick that list management strategy going forward.

Your ability to become progressively more stupid is actually impressive. I salute you, sir.

I just want you to know: just like Tom Boyd (but for different reasons) you make me smile :):thumbsu:

You just worry about McCardboard or whatever his name is. Well worry about our premiership winning forward.

At least get his stats right if you are going to have a dig.

Yup, he's deflecting because the Bulldogs actually went out and did something incredibly risky and it paid off. Fortune favors the brave and all that jazz
Like "reaching" for Bontempelli who won our B&F as a 20 year old?

Yep, true

I love how a $1 million contract in a $10.3 million salary cap now equates to "at least 25% of your cap".

Maths clearly wasnn't your strong suit at school, JD.

Premiership Centre Half Forwards - Z.Cordy 1, N.Riewoldt 0 :p

And it's already been shown that we aren't even paying 100% of our cap.

Nobody is ever going to let him get over rating Billings higher than Bontempelli because he kicked three goals against a team that was absolutely shattered emotionally.

The cap this year was $10,368,980 and is likely to increase by 10% for next year to around $11.6m.

How on earth have you arrived at Boyd being on $2.5m this year and $2.9m next year?

If you're right, that would mean we're only paying him $600k total for the remaining 4 years of his contract. Bloody ripper!

The Boyd contract really hurt us this year, up from the '14/'15 95% spend..... we almost came close to spending 100% this year :$

Well we are front loading him, but shaysus!

Given the number of re-signings since Boyd came on board and we still haven't paid 100% since he's been here (let alone the 105% we're allowed to) I'd say as reigning AFL & VFL premiers paying less than the cap we're actually in pretty good shape as a club

We were odds-on to take Aish or Sharenberg, Collingwood thought they'd have the choice over whoever we didn't take and Bontempelli after trading up to pick 6 with West Coast.
We took the Bont in what was seen as a reach (and there were more than a few non-plussed Bulldog fans at the time).

And we never ever ever questioned Dalrymple again.

Boyd played well in the grand final and will be a very good player , right now he is still an average footballer

Ah, sorry. I though you were attributing that comment to me.

Of all the stories around the Bulldogs flag I'm surprised how little there's been around Bont (proportionally speaking).

He's been the most significant draft pick (IMO) since the Eagles took Judd ahead of us (after us taking Ball thinking Judd would be there with our next pick).

Bont is an extraordinary footballer. He's already won one team a flag at age 20.

We just assume everyone is as sick of hearing about the Bont as everyone is probably sick of hearing about Bob Murphy by now.

The scary bit is this (posted courtesy of elsewhere):

At time of winning maiden B&F

EJ Whitten
21y 2m
66 games
1 flag

#TheBont

20y 10m
63 games
1 flag
