You mean I was bagging him in March? When he had done sfa? My point was that Brown was tracking better than him at a tenth of the cost. Boyd had a great finals series but that doesn't really disprove what I said.

Pretty happy with Mason Wood and Brown as the future of our forward line. So we don't really need Boyd. We certainly don't need him in the ruck.

what i love is it wasn't just his breakout GF where he did all this crap we expect of the AFL's champ players. But it was his prelim, where his role changed and became absolutely pivotal by halfway through the second quarter. His time in the ruck was fine in the quarter and half but we got eaten when Zaine went in there. But it was his immovability in the last quarter of that game that helped us seize the moment. He hung in there for the whole quarter and ended up wearing down the league's most physically intimidating ruckman. Unbelievable. We just do not win our second flag without this guy.

Yes and no in my opinion, At the time I loved the dogs being so bold trading so aggressively for an obvious need. 12 months on their whole system/game plan changed and it didn't require a dominant fwd like they saw lacking the year before. Yes he's been good and will be a gun player, they probably would've still won the flag if he wasn't playing, but while the flag and his performance will justify the trade, I think it might hinder any dynasty or dominant period like Hawks or cats as the $1m over seven years will restrict the squad staying together.
