The premise is that Boyd is overpaid. He's the Dogs' highest-paid player but is nowhere near being their best-performed.The premise.
What part of that is irrational?
Try to say something that makes sense.

Is that different to simply being overpaid? He's been overpaid for output.
You realise that doesn't make sense, right? Is that different to simply being overpaid?

No. It makes complete sense. You realise that doesn't make sense, right?
Does the picture explain that he's been overpaid to date? You can say I'm being overpaid but the picture says it all. And there',s more where that come from, don't you worry about that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm worth 10 million. Ha ha ha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, can you give me an example of a player paid his correct wage and then we can debate the "over" component of your argument.No. It makes complete sense.
Boyd is presumably the Dogs' highest-paid player but is nowhere near their best-performed. This is an obvious discrepancy. Hence, he is overpaid.Ok, can you give me an example of a player paid his correct wage and then we can debate the "over" component of your argument.
Can you point me to his exact salary this year? That will make this debate infinitely easier. At the moment we just seem to be dealing in assumptions. It's very hard to debate assumptions.Boyd is presumably the Dogs' highest-paid player but is nowhere near their best-performed. This is an obvious discrepancy. Hence, he is overpaid.
So you acknowledge he's been overpaid to date?Yes it does dipstick, go away and think about something to say that is original. You are just jealous. Get over it.

It's been widely reported that his contract was for an average of $1 million a year. If you're disputing that figure, then say so. But based on that figure, he's been overpaid. Can you point me to his exact salary this year? That will make this debate infinitely easier. At the moment we just seem to be dealing in assumptions. That's not the premise of my argument. No, the premise of your argument is that establishing that Boyd is overpaid (based on quantitative and qualitative assumptions) is not only objective, but an outcome that warrants the application of your time.
No one disputes that the Dogs won the flag. And, indeed, they were a popular winner. This, however, does not mean Boyd hasn't been overpaid to date. He has.Why did I bother writing this? I just enjoy writing "we won the flag you flog, suck it".
That's not the premise of my argument.

Yes, I do.Haha you don't know what premise means.
Of course. So you agree that we won the flag?
No I dont. Boyd has shown he can produce on the big stage, his finals efforts show he is worth every cent. Instead of bringing up the same old crap, you may as well talk about the whole Eagles team and Jack Darling. Spineless, gutless performances in last years GF and this years Elimination final. Talk about getting overpaid. Boyd has proved his worth, your players haven't.So you acknowledge he's been overpaid to date?
Yes, I do.
Of course.
It's been widely reported that his contract was for an average of $1 million a year. If you're disputing that figure, then say so. But based on that figure, he's been overpaid.
It's been widely reported? Good lord, and here I am trying to deal in facts. I'd have hoped someone with such strong and forthright views might have more than simply media reports. It's been widely reported that his contract was for an average of $1 million a year. If you're disputing that figure, then say so. But based on that figure, he's been overpaid.
But he hasn't been worth every cent to date. That's clearly untrue. No I dont. Boyd has shown he can produce on the big stage, his finals efforts show he is worth every cent.
Why? What does that have to do with Boyd?Instead of bringing up the same old crap, you may as well talk about the whole Eagles team and Jack Darling..
Boyd has proved that he's worth $1 million a season?Spineless, gutless performances in last years GF and this years Elimination final. Talk about getting overpaid. Boyd has proved his worth, your players haven't.
OK. So tell me the facts. What is Boyd's contract worth? It's been widely reported? Good lord, and here I am trying to deal in facts.
Like what? A copy of his bank statement?I'd have hoped someone with such strong and forthright views might have more than simply media reports.
If Naitanui is in fact on $1 million per year then you could certainly make the case that that's overs. What's your point?Ok, I'll play the game. Naitinui is "widely reported" as being paid $1m per year, but, as far as I can ascertain, he has not finished in the top 3 of your club's best and fairest, despite having played 7 years. So your highest paid player is not considered, by his own club, to have been in the best 3 players in any of his many seasons? Although I understand and accept it's off topic for this thread, surely you'd concede that Nick is grossly overpaid? It seems his only accolade is a dubious AA award some years ago. This discrepancy, IMO, needs some addressing, given underperforming, overpaid talls is the topic du jour?
Yes.Do you agree that Tom Boyd played in the Bulldogs 2016 premiership?
That's not what's being argued. I'm saying he's being overpaid in salary terms. We overpaid on the trade, correct.
We don't need to wait to say he's been overpaid to date.Tom Boyds initial contract is 2 years in, so then after its completed lets then look back and evaluate whether his contract was overpaid.
Yes. Scully was also overpaid. You want to look at an overpaid contract for a player that has gone it's full tenure, go look to the Scully deal (who reportedly earned $2m in his first year) and evaluate what Scully has done other than collect fat pay checks for his $6m deal
What narrow comparison?Point being, people will make their own decision at the end of the day and don't require someone else to make that decision for them on the basis of a narrow comparison.
OK. So tell me the facts. What is Boyd's contract worth?
If you dispute the figures reported dozens of times by various outlets, then by all means correct the record.
Are you saying he's not being paid $1 million per year?
Well that would make it easier.Like what? A copy of his bank statement?
Anything that could possibly support your assertion that he's overpaid, I guess. What kind of documentation do you imagine would suffice?
