No, I just used a poor reference for debate, as you have.
I thought you were all about "dealing in facts"? Where did you source that number from? Was it from media reports?

Last month you posted about him being paid $1 million a year and not being worth it. But now you're saying that number isn't real and he might not be overpaid after all and that we have no way of knowing his salary. Which one is it, champ?

Thats what Nic Nat was in the GF last year to do. Was on between 1 and 1.2 million to do what Boyd is doing in that pic.
4 disposals later and 37 hitouts, with 30 to the opposition do you think he earnt his keep, or do you think he is overpaid because there are other better players in the team. I mean Gaf, Priddis, Kennedy, Le Cras and a few others were way ahead of him the clubs B&F. Do you thin Natanui is overpaid?

Boyd is presumably the Dogs' highest-paid player but is nowhere near their best-performed. This is an obvious discrepancy. Hence, he is overpaid.
Alrighty, you seem to be pretty hell bent on contending that Boyd is overpaid. Most Dogs fans (and neutrals such as myself) believe he hasn't been overpaid.

In the immortal words of Rafael Benitez, let's talk about facts.

Fact: Before this year, the Footscray Football Club only ever won one premiership, and that was in 1954.

Fact: Bulldogs fans have been desperate for a premiership for years and years. They hadn't even been in a grand final since 1961.

Fact: Tom Boyd was key to winning that premiership. He was the highest goal scorer on the field, kicking a huge clutch goal that sealed the GF.

Fact: The Dogs have always found it difficult to entice tall forwards to join the club, so they recruited Tom in a left field manner.

Fact: The AFL's major prize is determined by a finals series, culminating in a grand final. So what if he's good for 'only one game' (he wasn't), if that game is a grand final?

Fact: The poor kid's only in his third season. Tall players take time, and you're so willing to write him off, even after all he's achieved?

Fact: Your trolling is mind numbingly tedious. I feel ashamed that I even bit. Maybe I should ignore you like I did Plugger.

It was a risky move. The risk paid off. Tom Boyd is worth every cent. FACT.

I'd prefer to deal in facts, as I'm sure you do. Not only did I say he hasn't been worth $1m per year a month ago, I wrote in response to you 40 minutes ago. But I guess it suits your needs to go back over many thousands of posts to try and find something you could have found 2 pages ago.

I never said the number isn't real, it may well be. What I said is no one knows, and as far I can tell, no one will. It's very hard to have a debate whether someone is overpaid, without knowing what they are actually paid. I'm sure you agree.

Did you "champ" me? How patronising.

Really?

Most people think he's been worth $1 million per season to date, despite never recording a top 10 finish in a B&F?

But he hasn't been worth every cent. To date, he's been overpaid. Talking about the fact he's in his third season is neither here nor there. Maybe in the future he'll be worth $1 million a season. But that's not the case currently. Hence, he's been overpaid to date.

So your attempt to reject the $1 million figure as a basis for discussion looks pretty ridiculous, given you quoted that figure yourself last month. You disparaged "media reports" when you presumably relied on that source as well.

That didn't stop you from quoting the figure yourself. But now you pretend to take issue with it. Can't have it both ways, champ.

And yet in those 3 years, only two with the dogs, he has achieved more than Nic natanui has in 8years on more money.

Look.

Before Boyd, the Bulldogs haven't won the flag since 1954. They paid many players totals adding up to much more than $1mil per season over 60 years, trying to grab that elusive second flag.

Boyd comes along, and he was a massive part in bringing that second premiership home to the Bulldogs. He did what so many other Bulldogs before him couldn't.

He's been worth every cent.

Do you agree that Western Bulldogs 2016 premiership hero Tom Boyd received the third most Norm Smith Medal votes?
An indisputable fact. And not only that, he received the second most NSM votes of any Bulldog player (Jo$h Kennedy came second).

From going to be a star to a star during the finals and already won his club a flag. Who cares what the Dogs are paying him, they are the Premiers and with Bevo at the helm they'll be up there for years to come. Reckon they win the flag this year without Boyd?

How am I rejecting it? I've already addressed that point. Weird. What weird reply.

The fact that they won the flag doesn't automatically mean Boyd has been worth $1 million per season. That argument doesn't prove what you claim it proves.

There were 22 players for the Dogs on GF day. Are they all worth $1 million per season too? Or is Boyd the only one, even though he's nowhere near being their best player?

Why are you so obsessed with him?

Honestly, what do you expect of a 21 year old, 200cm, 104 kg ruck/forward? Do you expect him to be kicking 80 goals a year?

You aren't getting anywhere with this mate. Stop wastin your time.
No, he can kick 17 goals a year like a 29 year old also highly paid ruck/forward. Sweet Jesus if you want to pick on a player for being poor value, Tippett's your man.

How does criticising Naitanui alter the discussion around Boyd?

It's not a coherent rebuttal. Is it meant to hurt my feelings or something?
Supposedly the equal highest paid player in the comp last season along with Gary Ablett.
Gary Ablett
Nic Natanui

Surely comparing the two being on the same money would have had you going on massive multi page repetative rant about what an overpaid under performer Nic Nat is.
