You couldn't have written a better script. Tom Boyd comes to the club on a big contract and is just crucified along with the Bulldogs from day one by everyone in the media, online... heck even on-field (Hogan). For 2 injury riddled years he shows signs and the club tells everyone to be patient. His form line starts heading up during the finals culminating in him being best on ground in a winning Grand Final side. Even his harshest critics must have smiled when he kicked his third goal from 60 out.
It was just fairytale stuff.

Only total f#@king morons still bang on about his contract. Intelligent people realise that he's fulfilled his end of the bargain early and his recruitment and contract are a resounding success.

Not every decision, just the decision to recruit a tall 19 year old number one draft pick who came of age in the most important game of our lifetimes and was a massive part of winning us our first flag in 62 years. A game that (mind you) equalled Nick Riewoldt's 3 grand final goal tally.
