I have no doubt the Carlton board are quietly hoping he goes. Pick 9 is more than he is worth pick wise, it saves Carlton a million a year in cap space, and he is so easily replaced its not funny.
ROB at the Crows destroyed him in the beginning of the year. ROB would cost you 500k a year for three years. (Not that I want ROB to leave the Crows, I want him to stay)

We'd all love TDK to stay. Just for nowhere near the $ being thrown about.

The Saints can figure out how to deal with his gigantic contract over the next 6-7 years.

Correct. People make it sound like having both Marshall and TDK is a terrible problem to solve.
It should be a great opportunity like Freo with their talls.

Sure, but not at the price he wants to stay. TDK on 700K a year is fine. TDK on 1.7m a year is another matter. For that Carlton would be pushing him out the door for pick 9 and the savings to their cap. He is easily replacable.

Yeah not sure he would be worth a big offer unless he's 80% in ruck, but would St kilda offload Marshall? Marshall definitely wouldn't play 80% forward 20% ruck. He'd be a good fit for Geelong and that's probably where he wants to go but Geelong have no salary cap for him

“No salary cap” for him 😉
You can bet if Wells and Mackie want it to happen they’ll do what they can to make it happen.
Way too many runs on the board to not believe in their ability.

“No cap” hey 😉
We've got the cap space for him at what he's actually worth, something in the 800k-1.1m range depending on his form.

Most clubs in the league would have it too with the new CBA agreements. I doubt it's a matter of money at Carlton either, it's just a matter of not paying stupid money.

We just won't pay 1.7m either, and nor should we.

There is not a chance Geelong offer him a contract above a million they are known for being extremely reluctant to handing out big money contracts they have obviously used other means in the past to get deals done. Anyway tdk is not leaving Carlton for market value buy all reports he loves the club, the only reason he is even considering st kilda is because our offer is almost at the point he can’t say no to

His contract will be massively front loaded at a level never seen before, hence we won’t be dealing with a big contract in 6 years time

A million ain't what it used to be. Scaled for the cap today i think the contract we gave Cameron would be 1.3-1.4. Don't think they'd have an issue offering him a million but they probably wouldn't go any higher than the blues offer whatever that is so it's pretty unlikely.

Apparently the big issue here isnt so much the offer TDK has from St Kilda vs Carlton, its the HEAVY frontloading St Kilda is doing for TDK. They legit have like 4+ mill available and are probably in a spend it or lose it position

It could easily be a case of TDK getting 2.5 mill in 2026, 2.5 mill in 2027 and then going down to a proper contract afterwards. Getting 5 mill in 2 years instead of say Carlton who would be backloading it and getting 1.5 mill is a giant ass life difference. From St Kildas position they are giving money they will lose if they dont spend it so this is better then burning it on nothing
So basically 2 years at saints on insane money and then trade request incoming

Carlton supporters can't understand that we have a plan in place for this contract because they've never seen their club plan beyond losing a game on purpose to secure Kruezer.

Take this rubbish elsewhere thanks. It's not wanted on this board.

With their first pick at Waverley and the prospect that a rebuild could be on the cards the Blues shouldn't be too disheartened if he leaves. Will get a top 10 compo pick at worst.
