What could he fetch? We have a few like him in the squad and he seems to have gone backwards. I'd be looking to grab a small forward at the end of the season to balance us out and be certain 22 starter.

Players fighting for a back 6 position.

Nathan Brown
Ben Reid
Jon Marsh
Jeremy Howe
Matthew Scharenberg
Jackson Ramsay
Marley Williams
Jack Frost
Lachlan Keefe
Tom Langdon
Ben Sinclair
Brayden Maynard

Tom Langdon is ahead of Tom Langdon, I like your thinking.:drunk:

Trade bait? After 46 games, and only 5 this year (considering he doesn't play again).

At best, absolute best you'd get a late 2nd round pick for him, and I doubt many would offer that.

Nah he stays, see how he develops over time.

Sorry it's meant to say players fighting for a back 6 position.

Agree. I wouldn't have him in the defensive six/seven over Howe, Ramsey and Williams. I'd also have Maynard and Scharenberg above him on potential. I like the idea of recruiting a small forward as well, but I don't think Langdon would have the desired value to get a good one in return.

I understand the trade bait notion but Langdon has suffered this year due to injury and a plethora of fit defenders (Shaz excepted) at the start of the year. He is a promising player and has just as much as Rama and arguably more than Oxley and Shaz. Toovey is done and there is no guarantee Shaz will ever perform. Not sure about Goldsack if he can go on.

Trade or delist Toovey and Oxley for me. Give Goldsack one more turn to get fit enough to perform because his speed and pressure is an asset.

Keep Tom Langdon

A bit rough? Yes too rough.
He's excelling depth in my view bordering on top 6 in defence.
I'd be more inclined to have Toovey, Goldsack move on before Langdon.

My best 6 down back (though are games now more rolling defensive groups?)
Williams, Brown, Maynard, Scharenberg, Reid, Howe then Ramsay and or Langdon.
With Marsh supporting then Adams or Varcoe dropping back.
Aish plays a role too.

Good stocks assuming the mids do the right thing and don't cause easy entry into our defence.

I'd trade Oxley ahead of Langdon. He was hailed in his first year, a bit off the pace in his second year, and injured for most of his (current) third year. Lets see how he goes in his fourth year before offering him up. Plus, he still has some credits in the bank for calling Daisy a bogan from Drouin.

I can't wait to bump this thread in 2 years when Langdon is one of our top defenders at the club - I'll gladly take the infraction. :)

Don't understand why people think Howe will remain in defense when we have other players back from injury and available for selection.

I wouldn't be looking to trade either and both currently contracted until the end of 2018 unless I'm mistaken.

Langdon and Oxley would get us a couple of picks or swap for other needs. We have too many back flankers.

Assuming the club sees them as purely HBFers. Either way, they obviously rate both or they would not have signed them until 2018.

This is the stupidest thread ive read on this forum. Pick 60 something developing into a very good player. Years of work and experience and massive inprovement and upside. And you think he should be tradebait?? Probably one of the shining lights in terms of draftees in the last few yrs. And he should be trade bait??

Sharenberg/oxley/ramsay ahead even tho theyre either injured or in the vfl ???

Complete nonsense. You wouldnt survive managing u10s diamond creek div 4 with your logic
