So cooney predicted us to finish 15th.....are we all being waaasy optimistic here?
Don't forget we are always underrated by opposition supporters. They will us to fail...the reality is with a good injury run there are 6-8 capable of making the top 4. We are definitely in that mix. AFL is a game of attrition, you need luck to win premierships.

Adam Cooney?

Who the hell cares?

I do :(

The caviat is that I haven't yet heard his justification, but as a 2016 retiree that's yet to prove his lack of relevance in the media his opinion holds weight for mine.

If we look for it we can fault any opinion we disagree with.

He comes across as a "great bloke" and he has a bit of personality but he doesn't strike me as a deep thinker by any stretch.

To me it's just another blokes opinion.

He could be right but I'm not going to stress over it. I could see us that low if we have a poor run with injuries to our important players etc but if we have a decent run then i'd see 6th or 7th as our ceiling and more likely we are between 8th and 14th.

Without his justification his opinion is not worth a piece of goat shoit, certainly no more than that of any other mug punter. He may just have listed us there because he doesn't like the colour black or he thought it'd be cute.

Top six was the worst, 1992 we finished equal top for wins but 3rd on percentage, Saints scraped in sixth, beat us on the day and as lowest ranked loser we were out. Still not over it.
Kills me when I think about it even now,in august 92 we lost to the Demons and Fitzroy when both were bottom of the table, also Saints had a bye the week before the final so they were fresh as daisies.

Virtually every player was in tears after that match,it was the 1st season after Pants passing and it was heartbreaking,I think if we got through that match unscathed we were a good chance at the whole kit and caboodle.

I remember the Hafey years well but that was right up there with them because we had a team which should have won more than 1 flag imv the same as the 2010 team.
