Surely it is going to be Essendon again - they always win damn them

Just as sure as the Dogs being in crisis, is reports every offseason that Essendon are coming like a freight train and will be contenders next year. Yet we've won a premiership and their 14 year wait to win a single final continues, go figure.

The mistake as a poster with access to information at times is to use definitives. So I shouldn’t say hunter and Libba aren’t going anywhere. I should say that my information is that neither player, nor the club have any interest in parting ways at this point.

I have a couple of good sources within the club and friends with a few player managers.I can also confirm that Hurley did agree in principle to come to the dogs. He did change his decision last minute.

Updated info: we have an enormous amount of salary cap room and want to lock in Bont long term before trade deadline. Dahlhaus is gone, Wallis deciding between Essendon/Carlton/Dogs. We are keen on Mcgovin but have higher priorities. Dylan Shiel is the main priority and will be interesting to see how we could get him over the line in a trade. Some interest in Aaron Hall & Brad Hill.

We have our base set with elite young talent. Dal, wallis, Roughead and Adams don’t concern me at all.

Exciting times.

Honestly, the player on that list I want to keep the most (Dahl) is the most likely to leave.

I can live with losing a few senior players IF - and only IF - we bring someone in who can bolster our forwardline. Even if it's just a mature body/spare parts type like Townsend.

Trading Adams right now would be a ridiculous decision. Bloke has shown A grade form on occasion and his currency couldn’t be any lower right now with his inability to get out on the track.

I don’t doubt for a second that Adams wants back home, but it would be almost negligible to just now bow down and just cater to his demands.

Only our club gets unders for contracted players. And this time around we don’t have drafting mastermind Dalrymple to stop us from looking silly.
