Gordon once said of our departures that "the adults were left to run things". My biggest worry is that maybe the adults left the children to play with their toys (our club) alone.

Absolutely love PG as a bloke and as a president. Gun bloke too but has a habit of getting people's noses out of joint and taking on too much.I agree to a degree Mike. Worried about PG being able to delegate well enough. Only opinion though so hoping I’m wrong as he is a club legend.

If Libba is back in Melbourne and training - I don’t get what the hold up is.
Would be wanting 2yrs & being offered 1 plus triggers
I saw Libba at whitten oval last week doing some running work.If Libba is back in Melbourne and training - I don’t get what the hold up is.
Fingers crossed but I think when clubs know they are going to be taken by someone else they focus on other players.I'm no expert on the draftees but following the draft closely for a few years one thing that seems consistent is that under the new bidding system Academy and father son players always get nominated later in the draft than they are rated pre-draft.
Based on this and if our draft order doesn't change I would expect a bid for Khamis to come later than 32, allowing us to pick another player in the second round. He may even be bid on after our 3rd rounder.
If I remember correctly Zaine was listed in Cal Twoomeys top 25 in his draft year and we picked him up in the 60's. Off the top of my head Stretch, Naish, Rice, Keayes and several others were all expected to go much higher than their final draft positions also.
It's lucky there is not any disgruntled former employees at GWS who may bid on West purely out of spite..Fingers crossed but I think when clubs know they are going to be taken by someone else they focus on other players.

And he was essentially playing a negating role although not very well at times. There were several times during the season that the only midfielder who we had waiting in the wings was Porter, who is by all reports not at the required level yet. No need to throw kids to the dogs, I think the club has been pretty good at developing our youth. I'm comfortable with Honey getting games in the middle last year given the injuries we had.

Yes but given that particular persons track record he would make a bid around 60.It's lucky there is not any disgruntled former employees at GWS who may bid on West purely out of spite..![]()
9 and 11 hurt more.Pick 19 looks likely, doesn’t it.....
Wasnt there a report saying (although not naming Libba) that he needed to complete some things before he was re signed, maybe those things may have been early start to training and perhaps a medical check? If Libba is back in Melbourne and training - I don’t get what the hold up is.
Reality is that most of us will never know and its quite possible that PG is both good and bad and it can actually depend on the overall team dynamic or the particular individual. Im sure its the same with Eddie a lot of what he does is great for the Pies but he has had his mistakes as well eg Gubby Allan. Not close enough to know.
