How much would Alex Keath, Issac Smith and Jamie Elliott cost us.

Alex Keath - Second round pick (600k /3y)
Issac Smith - 2 Picks in the 40s (400k/2y)
Jamie Elliott Free Agent
450k/2y with 3rd year trigger clause.

Get the feeling we have interest in Elliott.
Smith wouldn't cost that much pick-wise. He's 32 next year and his main asset is his running, which will inevitably worsen as he ages. I wouldn't expect any more than a single 3rd rounder, but more likely I think he costs even less.

Jordan Lewis upgraded the Hawks pick 57 to 48, while Mitchell gave them pick 88. Lewis was a year younger than Smith is now

Was Lewis contracted though? Hope your right!

I think we may need to be a little more daring this year so if the right offers come in for players like JJ or Williams then we should seriously think about them. The hawks are renowned for it hence why they have remained a finals team for so long. Thoughts?

For me players who we should consider trading include Williams, Jong maybe Dale. Obviously this depends on who we have coming in but Williams and Jong are both on the table.

There are others I’d consider but I’d dare not name them. One name in particular I’d consider for the right deal.

Jong and Dale wouldn’t get you much unless Dale has a seriously good end to the season.

Both McStay and Keith are out of contract - very good players but gettable as we give them future defining contracts.
McStay signed a contract extension during the week, plays forward, and would be the worst kick on our list anyway.
We need to target guys with better footskills.

Jong is contracted so yep I’d hold onto him if nothing arises.

Agree with Dale assessment. Wait and see on form and then what other teams offer.

Williams is out the door for me. I’m a fan but the depth in his best position is super strong. Let’s see if he helps us get Keith.

I would definitely keep Williams.

Retire Sukling and I would play CD forward of centre not convinced he should play in back half. Wood Morris not getting younger and each year is getting harder and harder for them.

Williams has good attributes for HBF. Kicks well, is evasive, is more than handy in the air and reads the tempo of the game well.

In a side that can’t hit targets by foot when you find a player that can you don’t let him go.

I’m a fan also but it’s a role you can fill quite easily.

We have done a great job getting Crozier and Duryea as cheap pick ups.

Unsure if Caleb ever plays back in the middle/forward.

Don’t disagree with you but Duryea’s body is not what it use to be.

Still say Williams at 21 is worth more to us than what we would get at the trade table.

Keath would cost the 600k but will be a 4-5 year deal to bring him over. Pick range is about right. If Williams goes then it would be Williams and a 4th
Isaac Smith you have right but I'd prefer b.hill on 800k over 5
Elliott you have about right but would only be on average salary (300-350k) I'd love him if he could stay on the park. Pies have offered him a year so will depend if he wants the extra year security.

You don't trade out players like JJ especially when we are already short of pace players. Hawks are not renowned for trading out high quality players in their prime.

Suckling, Duryea,mWood, Crozier are all out the door in the next 3,seasons- trading Williams is crazy!

Not only that he is only 22 and can play wing, mid and possibly forward eventually. With Picken, Boyd and likely Webb and Jong finishing what is the reason for ditching him?
Club wouldn't be actively shopping him. Only way we'd lose him is if he requests trade home to SA, which is a possibility

Crozier? He is 25 years old just hit his prime, will play another 6-7 seasons barring injury

Where is Crozier going?

Not good enough

Out of curiosity what is the AFLs minimum wage?

I believe draftees get at least around $80k or so, maybe a bit more. Remember reading earlier this year the mid season draftees were getting a guaranteed $50k or so, even if they aren’t retained
