who_let_the_dogs_out and Mattdougie - you've both recently posted about Eagles (MD) and Eagles/Dockers (wltdo) eventually coming for Naughton. He was born in Victoria, spending time as a child near Frankston, before his family moved to Rockingham in WA. So his family origins are in Victoria. I believe his family moved back to Victoria with him? The chances of him wanting to move to WA would be slight to minimal.

You guys need to do more research! ;)
If his family moved back, great, but seems to spend a bit of time in WA in the last couple of offseasons, so probably enjoys the beach lifestyle/mates there etc etc. Doesn't seem like that much of a reach TBH.

Who's to say a Hawthorn or Collingwood don't come at him anyway? My point stands, keep him happy, play him in his preferred position.

SIX CLUBS are chasing the Western Bulldogs' pick 14 as the club puts it on the trade table.

The Dogs are fielding offers from rivals for the first-round pick, which they are keen to offload for more draft points to secure Next Generation Academy gun Jamarra Ugle-Hagan.

However their plans could be altered depending on what happens with Josh Dunkley and the Dogs midfielder's insistence he wants to be traded to Essendon.

Adelaide, which has a very strong draft hand, North Melbourne and Collingwood are among the clubs who have asked about the Bulldogs' top pick as they try to improve their draft position.

However the Dogs may actually delay a decision on the early choice until closer to the draft, with clubs able to trade picks up until a week before the NAB AFL Draft. They then can do deals during the draft with live trading.

Bulldogs great Brad Johnson said the club must strike a deal rather than risk seeing Dunkley join Essendon for nothing — or having a disgruntled player on their list next season.

I think Brad tried too hard to not be biased at times.

Unlike Essendon who’s former players all read from the same playbook ours seem to be all over the place.

So now what would you do if you were Power?

I still think we should have a look at getting McDonald to play in our backline as it will help it out immensely and is probably the best we can get for a reasonable price. Well I see it like this, he’s a B- to C+ grade player and Gardner is a F or possibly S.... S for 🥔 , anyway he would be a massive upgrade and would be a good asset if we didn’t have to part with much to get him.

Cmon Brad, how exactly would we lose him for nothing? Fck me the media are braindead

It will have to be the crows with a “don’t pick our guy at number 1” surely.

Me?
I'd give dodo a deadline first of all wouldn't let him dictate proceedings, let's say Monday night. That way we have enough time to get other things done.
Then I'd give him 3 options
A) work out a way to get us pick 2 and a player in an area of need (Stephenson, Phillips, brander, curnow)
B) give us their future first (not ports), a second this year and draper or Ridley
C) admit they haven't got the assets required to trade in a player they value at 900k x5 and apologise for wasting our time

Again I say IF we do this I just wish once we would go balls to the wall and make things happen. Go all out to fix our issues and don’t half ass it

I couldn’t care about future picks I want to walk out of this draft miles in front.

And I don’t believe I’m going to even say some of these names but they meet our needs.

Dunks and Schache for 6-7 and Tippa

6, Dale and a later pick for Tarrant and Higgins

14 and steak knives for Stephenson

Split pick 7 for points

Martin for pick 172733

Out Dunks Schache Dale
In Tippa Tarrant Higgins Stephenson Martin

Wood. . Tarrant. Duryea
Williams Keath. Crozier
Higgins. Libba. Hunter
Stephenson Naughts. JUH
Tippa. Bruce. Wallis
English. Bont. McRae
Daniel. Martin Smith VDM

Treloar's criteria
- must be a Vic club
- must be in finals contention
- must be able to pay at least large part of 900k in 2021.

Regarding the last point- nice of Treloar to dictate the terms. I have faith the Sam Power will identify the annual wage we think fair and if Treloar or the Pies don’t agree, we walk.
