GC will likely downgrade 10 further, we should do it first - who are options we could downgrade 10 for, giving us more points to ship with 17, it’s the same thing in reality but probably gives us more leverage if we get the trade done first. 10 & 17 is absolutely all we should pay for the trade up

Adelaide with 20 & 23 are the obvious one although they have their sights on 4 aswell so would likely say no.

I can't believe anyone could actually be upset at the club by this. A player who can't get a game ahead of the AA ruckman moves home for a bigger opportunity.

The club could never play Sweet & English together despite what some think. Not too mention we're already going to have an issue fitting in Lobb & Darcy next season. The problem we'll have is that English played 23 games this season. We're now relying on him to be durable.

No issues not playing him this year, I do think Sweet/English combo should have gotten a go last year when English was shit, our midfield was shit and our tall forwards outside of Naughty were shit.

Who knows it may have saved us from a costly Lobb trade

But no real issue moving him on now so long as English/Lobb stay, hope he goes well think he’ll be pretty solid without being anything too special

Although I'd have personally liked to see the Sweet/English combo at least a few times across at least the last year or two, it obviously wasn't going to happen. Best thing for all sides, Sweet gets a chance at AFL level (hopefully) and we get at least something back that we can use this draft/trade period hopefully.

Not looking forward to our game against Port next year though, Sweet with a point to prove and Tim maybe having one of those games where he is - how to put it euphemistically - "slightly reluctant to engage physically with the opposition ruck".

Port wont have many picks to work with given Esava & Zerk-Thatcher also heading to Port around that late 2nd/early 3rd rounder mark.

I'd be pushing hard for either pick 43 or a straight Duursma swap.
I think Port will likely trade out some fringe players, eg Sinn could be part of the Zerk-Thatcher trade and Hayes or Lycett will likely go also to provide some additional picks.

Find a state league type. Brayden Crossley is good. Got booted from the Suns a few years ago for getting on the nose beers.

He would be my first choice of the state league guys. BUT it would be up to the recruitment staff to decide IF he is a fit for us or not. Lots of other teams in need has passed….

I am hoping we at least interview him and find out for ourselves where he is at.

Jordon Sweet has played 11 games, none this year and is out of contract.

Lewis Young landed us pick 52. Realistically we won't be getting anything better than that. PA won't be giving us pick 43. Seems like pick 72 or maybe something better if they manage some other trades.

If Melbourne get 22 for Grundy the I imagine they would be favourites for pick 4.
15, 22 & 24 for 4 seems fair.
Melbourne paid pick 27 for Grundy last year. I can't see how they possibly land a pick as high as 22 for him 12 months later. Pick 30 far more likely.

Not surprised to lose Sweet considering it’s the same coach that eventually forced an AA ruck into retirement after not playing him enough.

He just doesn’t rate the role and has held the line with English, even when getting monstered. May as well draft a 6”3 bloke that can play as an extra midfielder instead of a genuine tall ruck.

This same bloke that has watched our midfield bleed goals to the opposition when we haven’t had a fresh ruckman, I might add.
