If and i dont think it will happen we trade Fev would you be happy with a Brown/Clark forward line or would you want to chase a new FF.

I'm option 1 i think Clark showed a bit at FF in the last few rounds

Yeah in the very unlikely scenario that Fev isn't a Lion next year I'd go with Mitch full time up forward.

We need to stop pissing around with Mitch and put a big slash through the plan of playing him in different positions every week, I think he looks like a bit of a wizz up forward and enjoys being the number one target and it would really relieve some pressure for him.

Watching Josh Kennedy get clearance after clearance yesterday just left me with an empty feeling. :(

Josh Kennedy and Ben McGlynn for pick 39 and 46. We trade for Andrew Raines for pick 44 - first trade of the week - not sure what were we trying to prove there by going that early for a fringe player.
Shane Mumford for Pick 28 ?!

Wish Roosy was our coach at least for the trade week.

Sorry I understand this is Trade talk board for 2010, but cant help but highlight a totally different outcome, we could have had from last trade period.

Another GC Suns annoncement tomorrow morning....wonder if it will be Riska....

Quarters (OWAAT) seems to think Brown and Riska will be announced tomorrow.

Lynch was sitting in for Hird on "OTC" said it would be unlikely they'd name Risca till untill after our B&F...Quarters is a Hawks supporter and would be wanting another team to share the pain.....Any chance it's Brennan?

You should probably take into account that Sydney's needs at the trade table were completely different. Why on earth would we pick up Mumford with three fit ruckmen on our list?
Raines wanted to come to Brisbane and actively sought a trade. Having shown promise in his younger years, he was worth a gamble, considering where our list was this time last year. He could still be a decent pickup, having everyone jump down his and Voss' throat each time we have a loss is bound to get his confidence up though!

Hutchy said it with a certainty that made me inclined to believe him, worm that he is.

Sometimes he is right...Lyon just called him "A stubborn little man"....I find it hard to believe him.. since he went to air that Kosi was one of the two St.Kilda players charged with rape.....

I can tell you with almost complete certainty that Campbell Brown won't be announced tomorrow. Not to say he won't at some point, but it's not him tomorrow.

And remember when the senior tigers players came together and demanded Wallace be sack? Well Hutchy kept going on about Jake king was one of the players leading the push for his sacking. Yet King was never at any of the meetings and likely so as he was a 2nd year player!

Hutchy has a club he uses as a whipping boy in the media every year...the Lions got it all year from him

Subtle.
Good.

Was just watching the Gold Coast Stream, just announced Rischitelli has gone to the Gold Coast

Sorry, but no one is jumping down Vossy's throat here. All I am hoping is for him to play the cards in a smart way rather than go all guns blazing for what he is after.

Raines made it clear that he is heading to brisbane no matter what. IIRC, there was a news article regarding this well before the trade period. He was a fringe player at Richmond with no game time and he wasn't high on other club's hit list.
We could have picked him up for nothing in PSD rather than trying to make a point, trying to display a show of faith by going early and trading away our pick 44.
This is my only gripe about the whole thing, we could have played it smart rather than trying to showcase bravado. Josh Carr did it when he moved from Fremantle back to Port (he said in a news article if you dare draft me, I am happy to fly back n forth from Adelaide, that's where I'll be), Luke Ball did it, we could have done the same. Raines was not even a high flyer.

I would think that the 'trade strategy' last year was either lead or strongly influenced by Gubby. Voss must cop his fair whack for his mistakes and what not but so should others responsible.

Im sure Voss had a big say into the trading, but as to whether he hand picked the players and what we paid for them is another matter. There is no use in looking back 12 months and complaining about it. Things aren't as dire as the media make them out to be. We've had most of our problems off field in the past year i think, and that has in turn affected us on field. We are currently doing a review to fix these problems, and so far i can't fault the review.

The other thing to think about the traded players is the environment they have come into. They have come into a team who have had a shocking season performance wise, as well as has its fair share of off field dramas. I think Buchanon and Raines have some value as depth players in our team if we are functioning well. There are many players from last year who had just as bad, if not worse years than some of the traded players, it's unfair to judge them harshly and blame them for our tumble down the ladder.

Im really looking forward to next year, and seeing what we put in place and fix off field (ie, fitness and footy department). So many people here are doom and gloom. I find it an exciting time to be part of the club as we rebuild ourselves.

That had me scratching my head too. Unless New Caledonia is looking to be the 19th team...?

Appears to be an attention seeking teenager who has set up an 'insider' twitter by just repeating gossip from BigFooty/newspapers
