Because it nets us another pick in the top 25. I was hoping 51 would be enough for Vardy. It also depends how keen we are on Rockliff so this way gives us more flexibility in my view.

I'll just be happy they're playing poorly

With their injuries in 2016 finals were probably out of reach but there's no way they should have finished 16th if they were legitimately trying

A fully fit Fyfe and Bennell, a better structured forward line to aim at, sandi back in the ruck and further development in some of their young guys they should be aiming for finals. A. Pearce and Johnson may come back fit as well. Hamling is an upgrade on Dawson as well

If they finish below 12th they'll be tanking two years in a row

In terms of rucking options - I would rather take Darcy Cameron with 4th round pick and be done with. Giles has durability. He will be there when needed. To have Lycett for most of year, Giles all year and a mix of Cameron and say Schofield would do it for me,

Don't want Rockliff. Think he is one of the main reasons for the problems at Brisbane. Gets great stats but hardly does anything. Brisbane finished bottom or near bottom for the majority of his career; two senior coaches lost their jobs and they say he is instrumental in their removal. We have to stop trading players in from Brisbane - jury is still out on Redden and also Yeo to an extent. I'd rather we manufacture more picks and hit the draft.

This doesn't help us. We'd lose an important first (next year) round pick for a player who is going to cost us at worst a third rounder, in return we get pick 23.

So in my scenario we have picks 12 and 23 and could turn them into 22, 23 and 26 if we wanted to, or if we wanted to go for Rockliff (which I haven't decided I want us to do yet). Three picks in the top 26 vs foregoing a first rounder next year.

Great at padding stats but ineffective with the ball and responsible for a poisonous culture for years at Brisbane. Might do better with a fresh new environment, but I don't want our club giving him that start.

Again why would we help the Hawks and give away a first rounder to get a pick in the 20s for? Mitchell is coming for peanuts.

We don't need to involve the Hawks.

We could turn 12 alone into Rockliff or 12 or 2017 first into two picks in the 20s.

Serious under rating of Rockliff as a player by some on here.

If the rumours of him being cancerous are true then obviously do not want. However you're kidding yourself if you think he doesn't upgrade our midfield.
