Maybe they did their due diligence and decided jom's knees were stuffed? With the number of knee issues he has had it would not surprise me if barely plays another game at AFL level.

It's a huge risk no doubt. They are also putting all their eggs into Tom's basket. If he doesn't match the output of Mitchell or Lewis then they might struggle. Lets not forget Tom was part of a dominant midfield, he might actually get exposed if he is expected to be their 1st or 2nd mid.

I'd have Marsh on the list over Brown in a heartbeat. There's some talent there.

Still a bit bummed we haven't managed to land another pick in the 20's or cashed in on Mackenzie. If he plays WAFL next year i'll be annoyed.

Clem Smith , Eagles want as a rookie so need to wait five weeks for Smith but as a former top junior he is worth a go !!

He and Johnathon Marsh may be two of the worst young players in the AFL. If we got either even as rookies I would be annoyed.

And if Barrass and Gov go down for example we are ****ed.

Yeah, which is why i figured we'd be drafting a young KPD to develop in the WAFL, Mackenzie and Brown are obviously not developing any further.

Just like how Barrass served his apprenticeship, we'd have a new KPD (Marsh i guess) and move Mackenzie on for something in a strong draft.

Also have Yeo as the break glass option if things get worse after that.

Well Brown is as good as gone and I would back a club champion who had a nervous year because of his knee than an unknown quantity. I do like Yeo down back though but I hope he pulls his finger out and starts to dominate the midfield.

Sir Kim has spoken and we have just dodged a bullet.

Petrie "almost certain" to be picked up in the rookie draft?

The broken clock is back.

The article sounds all good with the no Ballantyne trade talk but then it slips in this turd; "Vardy, 25, is tipped to be traded for the Eagles' fourth-round draft selection, with Petrie almost certain to end up at West Coast as a late rookie pick next month". Surely we don't rookie list Petrie if the Vardy trade goes through?
Lycett gets injured and vardy goes down id rather have petrie to step in than mcgovern rucking - even if its just for the year.

If I'm GCS I'll be telling ol mate JOM to either convince the Hawks to bend over or they will pick him up before the Hawks in the ND or PSD.. and then actually do it.

Can't stand the Hawks or their supporters.

**** em.

If that eventuated I'd rather have Giles as the sole ruck with any old random (Yeo, Darling, Schofield etc.) pinch hitting as needed rather than waste a rookie spot on Petrie. If Lamb and McInnes are contracted surely we would all be wanting to see them named and playing before throwing games at a retiree?
