Mid, Mitchell is an excellent addition to our midfield but he'll retire in the next two seasons and we weren't able to bring in any more picks through trade period so we really need to add to the depth of the midfield (as we all know) but more so now in preparation for his and Priddis's retirements. Hopefully clubs see Ryan as too much of a flight risk and the mob down the road have other needs before him. I'd even be tempted pass on Waterman this draft.

I wouldn't have thought Ryan was a need for Freo, but then of course they aren't always known for their common sense when drafting either.

Don't get the JOM deal. Who's 2017 R2 pick did the Hawks trade to GC?
It couldn't have been their own since they had already traded their 2017 R1 to StK.

But from Hawks site it says GC got pick 10 and Hawks' 2017 R2.

Most clubs need a flashy small forward so I don't expect him to slide too far. I hope we have a crack at him though but I'm not sure what he is worth to us.

Surely then we should have been trying to upgrade 54 to increase the chance that the bid comes after our penultimate pick and therefore the chance that we only have to use 106

Would rather go into deficit next year, when presumably the draft isn't as strong.

at least we're guaranteed 600k cap space + LeCras contract. Could really chase a big fish.

Yeah that's why I suggested the DFA. Could alternatively be pick 106 or a PSD pick.

Or waterman. There was talk earlier on that if another club bids on waterman we won't match it. People then seemed to take it as if he gets big on in first 2 rounds then maybe use a third rounder on him. The club make be looking at using our first 3 rounds of picks and picking up waterman with pick 106.

Unless it is pick 55, then we go into 10 points of debt for next season. I'm not sure how that works though, it probably just means our first rounder is worth 10 points less which doesn't change its position.
