I can see why we got vardy and Petrie may be rookie listed .

With Nat out wce would want lycett as main ruck .

Giles would be back up main ruck but vardy and Petrie would be much better options as a forward that can pinch hit .

If lycett is fit enough to do the main ruck duties one of vardy or Petrie will pinch hit .

If lycett is not match fit Giles will ruck and lycett will play that forward role until fit and then Giles will make way for a better forward/ruck option

Shuey and gaff on good money ( but deserve it )

NN is worth every cent, Giles is on a pretty average wage for an AFL player. It's the fact we have a third option that's not also cheap as chips that hurts though it will prove valuable next season.

have complete brain fades and bring in discarded crap from other teams like Petrie, Lucas and Morton to clog the list up instead of taking young guys with potential.

As to your second point I agree, no need for Petrie as we have McInnes who is contracted for next year.

Cameron is a very simple and cheap solution. He would only be needing 150k a year to play and we should look at taking him even if it means going into deficit in 2017 to take Waterman (provided he is not taken in the first 2 rounds).

If our pick 54 doesn't go on waterman I would be happy to pick up cameron with that pick .
Pretty sure if waterman doesn't get picked up before pick 56 he is basically free as our discount will cancel out the points required thus no deficit

Maybe we could have farmed our Mcinness to Brissy or GC for a late pick. Couldve then used that on Vardy (he nominated us so what was Geelong going to do about it?) and then we could have saved the Vardy pick for Waterman.
