The only game I saw him play this year was for Peel v EP at Mandurah in the p'ssing rain. I think he had 40 touches that day and was a cut above the rest. We can do worse than grabbing this guy if available.

Ashton Hams is a star in the WAFL. AFL football is another thing altogether.

No thank you, too slow and doesn't have elite disposal to make up for it. There was a reason he was dropped halfway through the season. I'm sure some Vic club would snatch him up anyway as useful depth.

If we are in our window Clarke and Barlow would be great pick ups

No thanks to both.
Clarke has battled with mental health issues, I don't imagine moving away from family to be on a rookie list will be a good thing for him from a wellbeing perspective.

Barlow does nothing for our depth, just takes up a list spot and development games off our youngsters.

Clarke is from WA isn't he so would he be moving to family?

Correct, Clark is from East Fremantle originally.

From all reports his brothers are also colossal w***ers, so being a dick runs in their family.

Ah but he was an important ingredient in freo's premiership bid...would probably be more effective than Masten, Yeo, Hutchings and Butler one suspects...

Pretty sure they have to, under the rules ?
For the current year, yes you need to pay as much as you can to relieve pressure in future years. So if you had room you would front load to meet the cap.

Carlton probably front load to the extent that they would have significant room future years. As total contract value would be much less than hawks as example.

Front loading can be dangerous though in that a club can pay a player overs up front then have the player ask for a trade - I read somewhere it was one of the reasons why Carlton played hardball with Gibbs

Which was 3 years and a few injuries ago, players age and slow down. Trying to play him, Priddis and Mitchell in the same side would have our midfield looking even more like a bunch of road cones defensively than they already do. There's no chance we pick him up.
