Hawks have paid us most of Gunston's value.

They'll trade Ladson or something to GWS to compensate for the rest of the value we didn't receive.

GWS then trade MD2 and #14 back to us, with part of that 'paid' for by the Hawks part of the Gunston trade.

That make sense?

EDIT;

I want to buy something worth $100, I only have $80.

You spot me $20, then when we go buy the next thing, I contribute $20 towards the cost of what it is we're buying.
Yeah that makes sense, cheers.:thumbsu: Most likely the reason why the deal won't go through until tomorrow morning. Silvagni also confirmed the interest in Ladson too.

Just a consideration - is Howard in 2011 worth more or less than his drafting position of 15 back in 2009?

Its really the only explanation for accepting pick 24.

can't be as bad as roo

just turned off MMM - expected more from them

clearly Adelaide media does 0 pre-work
Aware me brah?

Cornesy cracking the shits because we didn't play hard enough with the Hawks; Gunston chat the focus, not Crouch (which it should be).

So let me get this straight...

We draft jack Gunston at pick 29 in 2009 in a strong draft and then on trade him for pick 24 in 2011 in a weak draft.

then allegedly...

We are going to trade our pick 10 as well as the Phil Davis compensation pick for a MD pick that will get us a very descent 17 year old.

so, why is everyone boning up over the Gunston pick saying we are winning?

we have been ****ed over, we have been bent over, lubed up, placed the plastic on made to smile about it. The Gunston deal has nothing to do with the MD pick so why are we happy about it. Once again, the AFC have been bent over and just accepted it like the good boys we are.

Nothing has changed.

Two ways you can go.

He's played little AFL footy, yet to break in to the line-up....value dropped.

Or Weak draft, 2 years development....value risen.

I see this as the overall picture

Lose: Gunston, Pick 10, Davis Compo
Gain: Pick 14, Mini Draft (Crouch), Pick 24 & SANFL player (if the deal is to be believed)

Pretty good haul if you ask me.

Yep.

24 sounds about right to me - we're talking about a second-year player who couldn't crack a regular spot in a struggling team - but internally the Bulldogs might differ. If the option is there, I say we take it with both hands. The more good kicks we have in our side, the better.

well if you go the Alex on Fire or Captain Dangerfield theory we would need to pay pick 1-10 for him.

Just wait and see whether the Hawks/GWS do anything before you shit your pants-suit.

Noble on 5AA now.

"All part of the ongoing process, there are still a huge number of things we're working on, what was pulled apart yesterday, we're trying to put back together in our favour - but it's incredibly complex. By the end of trade week, we're confident we'll come out in front."

Was always going to take a while and imo has performed to the expectations of his advocates. Dogs will not be keen to trade him one bit. However, if he wants to leave, it'll very likely be Adelaide and the Dogs will get ripped off.

Is a hugely tangled web, and there will be movements within Clubs and Players that aren't brutally obvious, but involve us and what we've moved on, and what we've received.

The mega-deal yesterday was on, but the AFL kyboshed it, so we're making it happen individually.

We've got the currency to get an elite player from the U17 Draft; which is a situation we almost never find ourselves in.

And what if they don't......it's too ****ing late and we are the laughing stock again.

If they have an in principal agreement with GSW that this will happen, announce the entire deal in once go to prevent clubs with questionable integrity from changing their mind.

The MD deal is good but the 2 deals are not linked.
