I posted a summary of what he said above, it basically spells out that there are other things to be done in this trade, and you want see the true value and in/outs until it's done.

David Noble clearly stated that we are interested in the 17 year old mini draft, which Silvagni already confirmed. He did not comment on individual players in the mini draft.

He confirmed that the mega deal will now result in individual trades that are linked in some way.

I want to see a direct link between us trading Jack Gunston to Hawthorn and then getting that MD pick 2.

That MD pick 2 is excellent but I want to a direct link between the 2 drafts, not some smoke and mirror shit to hide the fact we have been ****ed over.

We may end up with a very good deal but if their is no direct link between the 2 trades, we have still been ****ed over. End result doesn't change this.

OUR Pick 10 and the Phil Davis compensation pick (because it has good vale) will get that over the line, nothing from hawthorn.

Yep - I was pretty outraged at the Gunston deal but it's pretty clear they're all going to be connected. I can't deny I'm a little nervous that we're the team who's stuck our neck out first though. If the rest falls over & we're left with pick 24 for Gunston, Alex will be correct & the crows will be ****ed!

Yeah, I'm happy to hold off on assessing this until the end of trade period, but, despite what we've heard from the club, I'm feeling mighty uneasy. Right now, we're definitely behind. If, for some reason, the mini draft plan falls over, which it still definitely can, well then we've effectively traded into a notably shitty draft. Great.
Even if things work out perfectly, and the compo pick + 1st rounder downgrade gets us MD#2 and a SANFL prelist, I'm having trouble seeing that as any more than breaking even, though I suppose that mainly rests on how optimistic we are about next year. Personally, I'm not.
