Its pretty much been said but Barrett is insisting that the law is the law. The AFL dont have the right to determine whether these transactions are in the spirit of the law. He said for example, was pinching Scully in his second year at Melbourne in the spirit of the law?

The AFL are trying to interpret their own rules on the fly and really have no right. If the rules allow it, they shouldnt be interfering.

They knocked it back under the 'genuine on-trade' proviso they have to veto any and all trades.

And really have you seen what they have been doing to the rules of this game? I agree with Barrett that the AFL are only interested in picking and choosing. They created the issue and are trying to cover their arses because of their own desire to rush at the gate.

Not that it means anything to us but it seems Matthew Warnock from Melbourne is going to GC.

*shakes head*

I am going to show remarkable restraint and not answer that WALL-e.

Hutchy: Brisbane need to play the kids that will be part of their next premiership

Wallace: What KKP's do Brisbane have?

Hutchy: ummmmmm....

Poor Hutchy, gets ripped a new one by Wallace of all people :o

Sayin how it's hypocritical that they assess this as against the 'spirit' of the game when they allowed Scully and Davis to be taken at other times when that wasn't in the 'spirit'.

That no court of law would uphold the 'sirit of the rules' rather than how the rules are written.

Where was the 'spirit of the law' when Adelaide were appealing the Gibbs decision. The AFL were fine sticking with the letter of the law on that one.

That one didn't make the AFL look incompetent...

Surely the least they could do for us to help make amends for that and the loss of Davis is to let it go through. It shouldn't be about the spirit of the law, but the law itself.

I can just imagine this going to court and AA stand there saying "it's Mabo, its the vibe!"

Is it just me or does anyone else think Brisbane have been at the California Funeral Home Brownies?

They seem to only want players that are not going to be traded. First Tippett and now Lycett. They also think that Hudson will be a good role model for their younger players...
