Training 11/01

Why would JAck be running laps & going on strong leads with Browny kicking at him, if he was injured?

Have any of you ever played footy before, seriously? Well you often have muscle soreness after certain training sessions & there is no way knowing that JA would be doing anysort of running if he was injured.

Just like Cloke & Fraser, they arent actually injured, but need to be treated in a way so that they dont re injure themselves.

The fact that JA was holding his groin means very little, otherwise he wouldnt be out there!

Medders however is a concern, but maybe he just doesnt like the heat. Its not uncommon for certain athletes to struggle more than others in the heat, I know I sure did. Other teammates would beat me in the heat, when otherwise I would be ahead of them.

I have and some injuries are able to be pushed through.

I've had a groin injury where i could jog and get to about 3/4 pace but as soon as i tried to hit full pace bam sharp pain and it hindered me on hard leads.

Also from the OP off Nicks in case you missed it.

Haha yeah ive played footy mate and im a personal trainer so ive got an idea about the body mate... as i said... he was running laps wen i turned up and i stood right at the fence in the pocket wen he asked gavin brown to kick some balls to him... he led about 4 times... after each mark rubbed his groin and winced as if in pain then yelled out "NUP" to browny and walked off and stopped training... so buddy... that sugests to me he wanted to test somthing... him pulling up and yelling out no after 4 goes and holding rubbing his groin may mean little to you but to me it means he is sore.... and to the bloke who said he looked fine i was the only one in that pocket jack was facing, no1 else was in 100 mtrs of us so????
i didnt have to write anything but its pre season and everyone likes to hear whats going on down the club... so instead of being a ******* why dont u just appreciate that i made an effort... instead of questioning me...

Ball, Luke – excellent trainer. At one stage was pulled aside by Bux to show Corrie how to go harder in the pack using head and shoulders (as opposed to Corrie’s knees)
Buckley, Simon – ripping form, stood out like dogs balls. Great physique and led the way in 200m sprints. Had a very, very good feeling with this guy
Macaffer, Brent – ripping form
Reid, Ben – looks good and stronger than last season. At one stage, burnt off opponent from backline to wing, won the loose ball and delivered beautifully into fwd line
Thomas, Dale – trained his backside off. Bux pulled him aside and told him to take a few seconds to read the play before running like a madman.

I like these comments especially the Thomas one. Good to see Bucks getting into him about being smarter at the contest.

Cloke, Travis – bandaged knee, ran laps with Josh. Not an overly intense work out
Dick, Brad – walked up and down the boundary before returning indoors
Didak, Alan – did not see
Fraser, Josh – ran laps, not an overly intense workout before heading indoors
Johnson, Ben – not happy with him. Slow, looks dejected or injured. Trailed from start to finish. Skin folds not as good as others competing for same spot. And still has a shit kick.
O'Bree, Shane – ran hard, great hands, terrible, terrible kicking today

On Jack:

he was running laps wen i turned up and i stood right at the fence in the pocket wen he asked gavin brown to kick some balls to him... he led about 4 times... after each mark rubbed his groin and winced as if in pain then yelled out "NUP" to browny and walked off and stopped training... so buddy... that sugests to me he wanted to test somthing... him pulling up and yelling out no after 4 goes and holding rubbing his groin may mean little to you but to me it means he is sore.... and to the bloke who said he looked fine i was the only one in that pocket jack was facing, no1 else was in 100 mtrs of us so????

I don't like these comments at all. It's pretty much our entire forward line struggling. I hope they get it right by the end of pre season.

Does sound pretty bad about Jack. Still plenty of time before the season starts to get the groin right and also a bit more work on the track.

I would say that we would want to rest Jack from the NAB cup though. Maybe play him in a practise match just before the season but give him the maximium time to recover. Same thing with Cloke and his knee.

This means that all of a sudden we have some opportunities to trial other forwards which is not a bad thing at all. I would like to see Dawes and Rusling as our two forwards as both are looking in good nick and deserve a go.

I also think that we need to take the cotton wool off Rusling. He is fit now and if we play him and he breaks down then so be it. It reminds me somewhat of Buckleys last year. He was trying to gently get back and kept repeating his hamstring strains. He then decided to go 100% and throw caution into the wind which got him fit enough to at least see out the season (although he did hurt his hammy in the prelim)

This.

Let's just do it.

Whats up with Jack?

Unconfirmed and un-substantiated rumour of a groin problem coming from some dude on another forum. No one knows if it is serious or indeed if he has any problem at all.

Good to read that Simon Buckley is fit and looking good.
With Marty Clarke and Shannon Cox both gone, we need an extra man to slot in from halfback/wing. Sure Cox has copped a lot of shit from all on this site, but still its a hole we needed to fill. Here's hoping the second coming of Bucks is just the man to fill it.

Man, im counting down the days until the NAB cup starts. Life is a hell of a lot more boring without footy....

Jack and Cloke thats our forward line. Lets just hope they are ready for round 1 100% fit.

Yeh I'll be heading down. Do you know roughly what time it finishes?

10am according to the CFC website, haven't decided whether I'll turn up or not, I might.:)

If I do go, I'll turn up around 9.30 just in case, as that's the advertised time for Friday's session.

thanks for the excellent report. Living in NSW, I get hardly any news so any reports I get are greatly appreciated!
Hopefully Medders and Jack are OK for the start of the year. Sounds like Medders just needs to pound the pavement so to speak and get some fitness up.

Good to hear that he is improving:D
