Such a frustrating thread to read.

For some reason I keep clicking on it. Reading about transfer rumours is ridiculous enough.

It gets worse though, it's just you lot arguing with eachother about how much money each team spends.

Give it a rest would yas.

This is the rich kid thread.

Poor kids need not reply.

(I kid i kid!!)

LMAO at AC Miloan signing Torres permanently. They've taken loaning to a whole new level, signing washed up former stars to facilitate further loan deals.

Leicester are canceling Nick Powells loan deal.
I'm almost certain that's because he's going out on loan to a championship club that will play him. The name of the club has slipped my mind though.

City have one of the best youth programs in Europe.

In it's current form - best facilities? Yes. Best youth programs? I'll wait until I see some results before making a call like that.

Moomba you've long argued that the gap between dominating at youth level and translating that dominance into the production of players who can have an impact in a top league is much bigger than many people realise.

From what I've seen of this group of U18s you've got coming through, you have several technically gifted players who pass the ball extremely well, but none of them have really stood out and given me the impression that they're a million miles above that level.

Torres gone permanently on the 5th of Jan, oh joy.

Hell of an outcome for Chelsea.

Wonder what the arrangement is with his wages though. Doesn't seem likes its Chelsea's problem anymore unless there was some form of payout.

Mandzukic to Man City is on the cards now. Atletico to lose Mandzukic and gain Torres, good times

Would be a poor move for Mandzukic.

Behind Aguero, Dzeko, Jotevic (with Negredo still on the books)

Thats why I said that the only thing stopping us from that was kids breaking through at senior level.

It's starting to happen now with Pozo, Angelino, Ambrose all making matchday squads this season and the likes of Lopes and Denayer doing well on loan elsewhere.

But to be considered the best we'll need to get them regularly into our first team.

What we are doing though is developing good quality, technical, successful players and teams at all levels. National champions at (I think) U12, 14, 16 and 18 levels. 6 from 6 in the UEFA Youth League this season. 7 players in the England U16 squad. Stuff like that.

But counts for nothing if there isnt the pathway to senior level. That the next step, and I think (hope) we're ready for that in the next 12 months.

No payout, but we have to wear £18M on the books FFP wise, but that's it.

Its silly really, if you were under FFP pressure you would have been better off keeping him and loaning him out than just getting rid permanently.

Just on academies, our boss says that ours is better than what he worked with at Soton.

Whether that's true or fanciful can't be more than a matter of opinion considering the players that have come through in such a short period of time.

Kane, Mason and Bentaleb are in the best 11, while Townsend is a bench regular.

Walker, Lennon and Rose were signed from Sheffield Utd and Leeds respectively at 16.

Tom Carroll is on loan at Swansea and is finally clocking some playing time.

Ryan Fredericks and Milos Vejkovic are both at 'boro. Fredericks is a regular at RB and is a really mature talent whilst Milos hasn't been starting and will need to go on loan again to become a good CB.

Alex Pritchard is a left winger on loan at Brentford who is doing a great job, not quite as fast as a Townsend but a really technical winger who will make it IMO.

Jordan Archer is on loan at Northampton Town and is very much a long-term prospect.

Unfortunately, alcohol and substance abuse can affect the best of them. Powell had huge upside when united signed him. Had an excellent first half of the season on loan at Wigan and then started hitting the drink. Sadly, i don't think he takes his career too seriously. All the top clubs were after him and he wasn't overhyped.

Yep, but we aren't under any pressure so I guess we are just doing Fernando a solid and allowing him to get home.

Although his Missus shows that you can be a washed up shoulda-been and still pull the birds.
