Inter didn’t want a loan, and Arsenal didn’t want to commit to an option to buy in the summer. Strange times at Arsenal.

Hmmm at his age a permanent deal could have been a poor transfer. Inter not wanting a 4m loan fee + an option to buy speaks volumes for me.

Agreed. Handy in the short term. But if Arsenal is working on a reduced budget in the summer (which remains to be seen), would most certainly need to spend that ~£30m on our defence first.

What's the go with the reduced budget? A reaction by Stanley because there has been no CL income for the last 2 years?

Well he wants the club to be self sustaining without him having to put in a cent. So if we miss CL again, it restricts our spending, especially because we have people on contracts that would have been awarded when we were a steady CL team, some massive free transfer contracts and you know, Ozil's contract.

who do you want gone?

From the ones that have contracts:

Ospina
Mustafi
El Neny
Ozil (I actually like Ozil, but we need to get this contract off our books, especially if Emery isn't going to play him)
Lichsteiner
Jenkinson

We already know Cech, Ramsey and Welbeck (probably) will be out as well.

I would also see how Koscielny and Monreal are holding up by the end of the season injury wise as well, and if Chambers isn't in Emery's plans, sell him while he has had some decent form with Fulham.

If we keep Monreal, Kosc and Chambers, that would be 9 changes I would make. I don't reckon we make all 9 of those changes though, that is a massive turn over in 1 window.

Koscielny has to go, you'd keep xhaka as well? He can play but there's too many mistakes in him imo, there's better players out there.

I'd keep chambers, monreal is 50/50 you can see he's on his last legs, everyone else you mentioned i'm happy with them going including ozil.

I get the sense it’s a wait and see approach from Stan and the leadership team. Arsenal have actually spent quite heavily the last few windows but so many gaps remain in the squad.

Much more investment is needed but the club aren’t in a position to commit anything concrete to new players etc until the season is finished.

Inter need garrenteed money to pay off all their loan with option buys whilst avoiding FFP. Losing one of their better players for the rest of the year without the garrentee of substantial money coming back just isn’t worth the risk.

Happy with this one Jatz?
Very much so. Can’t say I really understand why he’s ended up at Leicester but I’m happy with it. Hopefully there’s a chance we get him permanently at the end of the season.
