A 17 year old Lionel Messi coming through the ranks,
ready to be drafted next season,
Keano has the first pick....

what happens next?

(there's prizes!)

Pick traded to Adelaide for an injury prone, average striker?

"11.40 Harry Redknapp fears Portsmouth will miss out on signing Younes Kaboul because the South Coast club are third in line for the Tottenham defender behind Aston Villa and Tottenham."

Quality as usual from Sky.

Apparently Andy Johnson is in London for a medical with Fulham and the Moutinho deal is close... as well as a possible deal for Guillermo Ochoa..... apparently.

Pretty funny that the funds from the giant penis will cover a substantial part of the Moutinho fee :D

Maybe they will.. maybe they won't. I'd say they'd only cover 25% of it. Also.. As long as we get a decent backup striker I'm happy... anyone is really better than Johnson and I don't want Anichebe playing too much (he's just not that good now - Vaughan is)

Andy Johnson fee is 10.5 mill rising to 12 based on goals scored. Fair enough deal for both sides id say. If Fulham can get some depth in defence they may go alright next year. Im just happy he aint signing with us.

I thought another EPL club made a offer for Moutinho?

Everton have agreed a deal with Fulham to sell Andrew Johnson.

The 27-year-old striker has been given permission to discuss personal terms with the London club with a view to a multi-million pound switch to Craven Cottage.

A Club statement read: "Everton can confirm that it has agreed an eight figure sum with Fulham for the services of Andrew Johnson. This is subject to the player agreeing personal terms and negotiating a medical."

Johnson did not travel with the rest of the Everton squad to the USA for the pre-season preparations in Chicago and Denver.

He was Everton's Club record signing when he arrived from Crystal Palace for £8.6m in the summer of 2006.

He has netted 22 goals from 74 appearances in his two years at Goodison Park.

Better be that fee mentioned before. Bye bye HackJ

Very glad we had some financial constraints there, because I know Curbishley would have been all over him otherwise.

Johnson for possibly 12M, or Bellamy for 5-6M. I hate the twat, but Fulham are seriously overpaying here. Him and Zamora should have a decent partnership though.

I imagine we'll try to bring in Edison Cavani from Palermo on loan now.

Sell Neill and Ljungberg, bring in Joey Mattock and another good young right back, and I think we'll all set for the season ahead.

Re: Confirmed summer transfers thread.

Robbie Keane (Tottenham) >>> Liverpool (19 million)

What a muppett, just as Spurs are starting to get seriously ambitious he jumps ship. Liverpool won't be competitive with the big London clubs and Man Utd in the coming seasons. London has too much pulling power for the top foreigners and Man Utd, well they are just Man Utd.

Robbie made a boo-boo

Agree with DBAH0. Neill and Ljungberg can **** off (I'd only keep Neill as a backup if he takes the paycut that has been spoken about).

If we had signed Johnson I would have gone ballistic. 12m for him? Ridiculously overpriced.

I hope Everton get Moatinho, I'd rather they get him rather than one of the big 4.

haha.

if one of the big four wanted him, they'd get him.

take note dude. none of them want him.

2 + 2 = 4. Always. (like that lovely Bon Jovi song)

Sell Neill, keep Ljungberg. As far as im concerned Freddie is still our starting LW unless someone else comes in and makes things different.

I hated Freddie for a long time but when he finally got a game he busted his balls, worked hard. Hes even quit international footy to concentrate on his Hammers career which I respect.

Neill on the other hand is just a awful player and unless he likes bench warming he should move on.

19 million for Robbie Keane . Tottenham are laughing all the way to the bank with that one. They are gonna replace him with Arshavin and still have change left over

Arshavin just behind Berbatov. Scary thought.

Diouf finally joined Sunderland for 2.5 mill who Bolton replaced with a very good player in Mustapha Riga. This guy is FAST and is gonna be a great signing for them. Free too I think. Bolton are gonna have a very good side this year.

Colloccini off to Newcastle it seems. Gonna be a big fee I reckon

would be a good signing tho:thumbsu: quality defender

You were all telling us the deal was barely 12 million. Now its 19 mill for sure and could be 20.3 mill. Surely now you can admit that is a very poor deal.

The fee surprises me. Not what I had heard. But somewhat expected. Clubs like Spurs “trying” to break into the top 4 don’t sell their best players for nothing.

However, there is no way known to man, that the bulk of that fee will be not be paid in instalments. Simply haven’t got the money.

I don’t think it will be a poor deal because I’m very confident that he’ll be a fine, fine player for us.

Always liked Keane, he’s an intelligent player, a consistent goal scorer over many years, and a hard worker.

This time last year we were told that 20 million for Torres was a rubbish deal and we overpaid

Atletico Madrid and the press ran with 26.5, even though it was nowhere close to that. It would have been close if Torres hadn’t forfeited his entitlement to about 5m of his release clause of 27m. Wouldn’t surprise me if the situation was a little similar here, given Keane handed in a transfer request. *Take note, Gareth*

With Keane, proof will be in the pudding. We’ll have to wait and see, but I’m delighted at the signing, even if the fee is a little much.

He is a quality defender, however I'm always wary about us paying that much for central defenders, hard not to be after our previous record :p

Good to see he gets your approval though, since you'd have seen more of him than me.

Negative Embers. Arsenal, Man U and Chelsea made enquiries... no one has made a bid but us.

Yes, but we signed Nasri instead so that'd be why. They're the same sort of player.

Re: Confirmed summer transfers thread.

Paul Robinson (Tottenham) >>> Blackburn Rovers (3.5m)

Good luck Robbo, you'll always be welcome back at the Lane (as long as you are not playing for the home side!)

Not a bad piece of business first up by Incey. Would have been nice to have Friedel for another couple of years but his replacement has merely been brought forward.

True long-term number 1 keepers are few and far between so to get a replacement of Robinson's quality for a net outlay of 1.5mn is excellent - 9 years younger and capable of international football.

Sure he has lost form/confidence in the past 12 months but a fresh start should do him some good. If Calamity James can get back to career best form then so can Robinson.

He's not as good as Garay but he will do fine for you guys... :thumbsu:

Coloccini > Garay IMO

(for now anyway, Coloccini is a few years older correct?)

Garay still has a few technical issues from the limited i've seen of him (fantastic going forward, just needs experience and his defensive game will tighten up.. Coloccini is in the top 5 defenders in La Liga right now IMO)
