Travis Cloke v Jarrad Waite

Waite is the better player with the brighter future.
I remember the other Cloke boys about the same age, being talked up as good players now look how good they are.. Trav will be the same.
Waite is alot more versatile compared to Cloke, and will become a very good player like a Trent Croad where he can be pushed forward or back depending on the situation.

i would shudder at that comparison if i were a carlton fan. waite will be far better than croad ever is /was.

Waite could play on him. But 20m out wuth the ball kicked on both there heads I would back Cloke to overpower him. Travis just is a more naturally powerful person. Bigger build and immensly strong through the core muscles. He moves big defenders quite easily.

Waite would have to play just off him and use his bigger leap to spoil the ball. Problem is that Cloke for a big power KP is not slow and has a pretty decent tank and will keep presenting. In the end he just wears most defenders down.

I thought Waite was quite good in the 1 on 1s on Hall on the weekend. A few cheap goals at the end with Hall waiting in the square covered up that Waite beat Hall when they contested for most of the day. Has a future as a defender if they want to play him there. Prefer him forward though.

I actually thought Egan was a good matchup for Cloke, but he kicked four goals anyway in one of his best showings for the season.

Waite did play on Cloke in Rd 7, and Cloke had 16 kicks, 11 marks and 3 goals, 4 behinds, so Cloke was really Cloke's only opponent for the day.
