Port Adelaide defender Xavier Walsh has accepted a one-match ban imposed by the SANFL Match Review Panel.

During Sunday’s SANFL pre-season game at Alberton, Walsh was cited for careless conduct on Norwood's Tristan Binder. The second-quarter incident was graded high contact with medium impact.

Walsh will be unavailable for Port Adelaide's Round 1 clash on Friday, 28 March.

What if Port argued he was going to be picked for the Richmond game? I assume he would be ineligible for that game.

Dan Houston getting a 2 match ban for leaving the ground and making contact with an opponents head vs his 5 week ban for a heavy but legal bump last year that saw him miss finals for us. Not at all surprised but angry nonetheless.

You could say that the penalties are based on the outcome rather than action (rightly or wrongly), but there's still cases like Maynard ending Brayshaw's career where that doesn't hold true. No wonder people say there's different rules for different clubs.

And yet we cop plenty more suspensions for the "potential of" or "possibility of" harm than I seem to see for other teams.

He is lucky given Houston got 2 games. Houston was graded as High Impact, DBJ as Medium Impact. In reality, the actual impact of both was Low Impact upgraded for “Potential to Cause Injury”. DBJ got upgraded one tier and for some reason Houston got upgraded 2 tiers.

I can’t see the difference. For once, we got a better deal than Collingwood.

The Rosetta Stone for understanding the MRO's decisions is seeing how many times an incident has been replayed in super-slow motion.

The other key is whether it is a heartland:tm: club about to have a crack at finals.

Donal Trump is more consistent/reliable than Michael Christian.

Wasn't Fogarty forced from the field of play after the hit from Houston? That would put Houston at a higher impact.

I wish we had a player in the AFL who had a shop steward mentality like Ian Chappell did and attack the bullshit KC's are allowed to say in the hearings, threaten to walk out on ridiculous tribunal hearings, attack the MRO and go and take over the AFLPA and threaten strikes unless the AFL fix the whole farken system up.

Ya kidding right?

Front on, as in two players running towards each other, one goes the shirt-front no eyes for the ball, the others watching and playing the ball.

Vs

Side on, where one player goes head first for the ball, the other goes to try outbody in a contest for the ball. Both going for the ball.

That'll put a dent in his weekly 'lifestyle' budget.
He’s a Kevin Durant / Phoenix Suns fan for the absolutely nothing it’s worth. Saw him kitted up at a “lifestyle” restaurant in the Fleurieu with his dear mother.
