Sorry SS, your right, I forgot he did Full-On training at recess and lunchtime in the schoolyard.
Yeah and he did solo training at school every Monday afrternoon, did school training every Tuesday and Thursday night and played matches for school on Saturday.

I assume Beauy training was Wednesday and Friday, and played for Beauy on Sundays?

The boy trains every day, massive work ethic, don't think he'd be where he was without both clubs, but he certainly went through the majority of his development at Caulfield.

End of the day, great talent and I think we all wish him well in his pursuit to play at highest level :):thumbsu:

Once again some of bazza's sharpest work.
I think i saw bazza hobbling around Mentone shops the other day with the rest of his mental mates.

robbie cathcart is a gun, love his silk around goal and work ethic. too bad about his involvement in those rape allegations though.....

Were these the rape allegations regarding him raping Ormond, Old Melbournians and then Caulfield. Was easily the best finals player out of the four sides.

Not only the best player in the finals, he was the best player in the leauge by a mile. Only playing 7 games for Beaumaris, he still came runner up in their Best and fairest. If he played a whole season for the 19's, he would have smashed all opposition in the leauge bnf.

any thoughts on who the teams to beat are this year? Based on results, pretty uneven competition, Skev boys and caulfield seem pretty potent although could be a result of thier competition. from the looks of things the only interesting battle would have been Brighton against De La. not sure if either are contenders or just making up the numbers though. should be an interesting year, hopefully with closer results.

The only real game of interest at the weekend was Ormond vs Skevvies at the old E.E. Gunn, and the boys from the snakepit kicked five first quarter goals to Ormond's zero to really get the jump on them early. Ormond fought back bit by bit in each quarter but it wouldn't be enough. Pana Karageorgiou booted three for the visitors as they survived to record a four goal win. In the other games there wasn't much interest, Adam Marangon was best on ground in Old Melbourne's clash with the Collegians, Maxim Allen was a shining light up forward for Collegians kicking four. Nick Fyfield kicked six for De La in their game against Old Haileybury, in what was a 21-goal win. Charlie Kennett booted another seven goals in Old Brighton's clash with Mazenod - which incidentally they won by 201 points. Not as good as Caulfield though with small midfielder Zac Parsons kicking eight and Benny "Goku" Frazer booting six, Caulfield ran all over Oakleigh to record a 240-point win, former Ormond juniors premiership player Josh Smith run amuck and was best on ground for the Fields. The ball was always in the forward half for the Fields, that was acccentuated by a 14-goal third term, and the fact Oakleigh were unable to score a goal until the last five minutes of the final quarter.

Next week there are two HUGE games with Old Melbourne taking on Caulfield and St. Kevins taking on Old Brighton. In the other games we have De La taking on Collegians, Mazenod looking to register their first win against Ormond at home, and with a percentage of just over 30 between them, the clash between Old Haileybury and Oakleigh is sure to be a gritty game to watch, get behind your team this week OH and Oakleigh fans, you might just get them over the line for a win.

SS :thumbsu: :)

is there any reason why people are rating Brighton? as far as i can see there yet to play a real contender only beating mazenod and oakliegh i think and going down to a de la team that most agree aren't a real threat. i know it's not an in-depth analysis but ormond pumped de la who a week earlier got over Brighton. do the boys from the bay have some secret weapon i dont know about?

Yes, Lachy Nash.

Melbourne played Caulfield bright and early on Saturday and Melbourne was excited for its first test of the year. Unfortunately it wasn't much of a test as Melbourne got the first couple and never looked back. After being touted as the two men to watch, Spanos and Parsons were really out of their depth in terms of movement and attack on the ball compared to the OM's brigade of tough onballers including Webb, Slade, Carter, and Hayes. Sam Dunell was best afield rebounding the ball relentlessly from half back and was taking marks in conditions that few others could, perplexing the Caulfield forwards who didn't want to get their knees dirty. Melbourne continued their domination throughout the game and ran out winners by 7 or 8 goals in trying conditions.

The story so far seems to be that Melbourne and SKevs are the teams to beat. The other two contenders in Ormond and Caulfield have both suffered defeats and it looks at the moment to be a race in two. Rather boring if you ask me.

as seen last year never count out the blue and gold!

Predictions RD 6

NODS V DE LA by 15 goals

FIELDS V SK by 4 goals,Field's Top scorers elevated to Seniors

COLLEGE V OH by 5 goals

OM V OB BY 3 GOALS

OAK V ORM BY PLENTY

Good luck to all

I was just looking at results De La in the 4 how does that happen? they are a 2's side playing in 1's comp could somone please explain to me how they are beating anyone letting alone being 2 games clear in 4th spot. If de la get close to melbourne on weekend De La could be the biggest sleeping giant in the Vafa with there 19(1) second on the ladder and the seniors equal top in A grade. could somone please explain u
